Interior Lighting Question

Been a TL owner for about 3 weeks now and while driving to work this morning I noticed the VSA and the side mirror buttons to the left of the steering wheel do not light up. Is this the way it is suppose to be. Thanks.

^what he said.

luckilly, these are easy to replace.

the lights that aren't so easy are the ones behind the radio/nav/etc.

advice...replace ALL the bulbs in the area that you are working in. common problem on TL's and you might as well replace all of them once your in there so you don't have to go back in 6 months and do it again.

Thanks for the input. I will be replacing them tomorrow. I would guess I just pop off the covers and the bulbs will be right there...

You will need to remove the drivers side knee panel, which has a small plastic screw to the right. Remove this, then slide the alignment pin slot off; this is located above the pedals. Remove. Then you will need to pull the console cover off...beware, the clips are TIGHT.

There will be 2 or 3 screws retaining the panel.

Yup as stated, they light up.

They're EXTREMELY easy to replace.

Hell, I replaced mine in a damn parking lot when I bought the bulb.

All I did was remove the plastic screw on the right and pulled away the dash (NOT COMPLETELY), just enough to give me room to replace the bulb. Then I push the lower dash panel back in making sure all clips are in. Presto. Done in 5 minutes.

Don't know about the "2-3 retaining screws" mentioned by DeathMetal

Deathmetal... How did you install the LEDs in your door handles like that? I have always wanted to do this but I'm not sure how easy it will be. I just want a nice glow like the footwell ambient lighting is. Thanks!

Great write up. The doors handle led looks like its a lite brighter than what id like tho. I can see it shining off of the dash. Is there any way to make them dimmer? Maybe a higher resistor?
