Interior light issue

I have some lights out in the interior. Right side of steering wheel all lights including cruise control lights and high setting on driver side heated seat. I am sure there are descriptions and pics somewhere, just can't find them. Are they all bulbs? If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Links would be helpful.
Thank you .

yes they are bulbs.

this thread will explain how to tear the steering wheel down to get to those bulbs in there..
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-100-diy-led-interior-part-iii-steering-wheel-leds-audio-cruise-modules-763640/

when you get to this:

those blue things are the bulbs.. use a flat head to turn it counter clockwise and then remove and replace the bad bulbs.

center console removal: use this thread to move the rear center console back, remove the cup holders and access the heated seat switches. To completely remove the heated seat switches, you will need to remove the center tray, then remove the two screws that hold each switch in to place.

Good luck, post up if you have more questions.

Wow, I have the same lights out in my 2006 TL. Do we really have to take the steering wheel apart? It cant just be a fuse. FML.

You CAN try checking your fuses. But if your other bulbs are working, it's probably the bulbs.

these bulbs are notorious for burning out early...it's just one of those things you have to deal with on the 3G TL.

my advice, replace EVERY bulb once you have everything taken apart. you don't want to have to remove all these pieces again anytime soon.

^ for the steering wheel, I agree.

At $7 a bulb, I replace the ones in the center console as they go out! lol

Thank you very much. I will give it a try this weekend. I am guessing I can buy the bulbs anywhere. Is that correct??
Thanks again!

Don't they have LED replacements? I would think they would last longer.

Tech- buy the bulbs from the dealer. You won't find them anywhere else.

LovemyTLS- yes there are LED replacements that do last longer.

mattftw - Just disconnect the battery before you disconnect the airbag and pull it from the steering wheel. Then reconnect the battery once you have the airbag out of the car. This is a very simple procedure, don't let the dealer rape you on labor! Long shot, but if you're local to northern virginia or tampa bay, I'd be happy to help you out.

I'm guessing the 420 in your name is for your love of the ganja. Don't get high and work on the car... it never ends well! lol

Wish I was closer.. I'd get you set up, no problem.

It sucks that we have to post in the regional forum to get local help because those are much less active forums. However, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to make a thread over there and maybe someone local will see it and help you out. Good luck to ya, buddy.
