Considering my 4th 3G TL

Ok. I'm done with the RDX. It doesn't excite me at all. So I'm seriously deciding on a trade that would be equal a 3G TL with little to no money changing hands.

Trade: 08 RdX tech 72000km (WDP / ebony int)

My choices are down to: (cdn pricing)

08 asm navi with 50000km and Acura extended warranty $27k

08 asm typeS with 60000km $29k

08 WDP navi with 45000km $27k

I love asm so I'm leaning towards that. Also, I have a set of 19" RDX rims that would go to waste if I got the typeS (brembo). Plus I'm not a fan of firm rides so I think it'll be a base navi for me!!!!!

Good feedback. Is the typeS that much firmer than the softer 07-08 base?

Go with the TypeS. ASM is better looking than WDP imo

I debated Type S or not as well...but after getting one, I'm so glad I did. The Type-S stands out from the crowd, at least around my area where there are a lot of Base TLs but very few Type-S models.

Gee, what a surprise!

When it first came out, I was standing outside the dealer with the GM as the 1st one got laded off the truck. I looked it over, saw the accompanying window sticker, and right away told him FUGHETTABOUTIT! I knew that that combination of interior space, gas mileage, and price would not go over well in today's market place considering the competition out there, turbo or no turbo.

And just how many RDX's have you actually seen on the roads?
I'm in the NYC area and can't remember seeing more than maybe 2 or 3 over the past year.

If Acura was smart, they would have put those development resources into making a hybrid or 2 .....
Especially with the fluctuating gas prices over the last decade!

You mean the Honda Accord from Europe?

I'm sorry, but the TSX just doesn't excite me at all. I got it as a loaner car for a few days, lifeless steering, loud and slow engine - feels like a base Honda.

Go for the Type-S. It's totally worth the extra $2k.

One vote for TL/w Navi

I had my 2008 TL /w Navi for 18 months.
I get a little better MPG, smoother ride, brakes are cheaper & won’t wear as fast, cost less, and fast enough for most folks.

Okay, I was looking for a Type-s, but couldn’t find one in this area under 50k miles.

I'm happy with my ride....

Everyone is saying Type S, but does the OP wan't a 5AT or 6MT? If it's a 5AT, I'd suggest the base instead.

I've had 3 x base models... the first one was an 08 but with no navi...got rid of that in less than 2 months cuz i really wanted the Navi. After that, had a WDP/ebony with navi which was my favorite but was a lease so i transferred it off after a real good friend sold me his 07 CGP navi for cheap. then i made the damn mistake of trading that towards this accursed RDX tech...but i feel its time to try out the type-S now after having so many base models...but i really really loved the smoothness of the base so i'm hoping the type-S isn't too rough...will be taking it for a test drive tonight !!!

Beautiful Type-S. You may have mentioned it, but what didn't you like about your RDX? I drove one recently and found the turbo to be a blast. The paltry gas mileage and harshness of the way it drives would get old though.

Anywho. I think the 3G TL Type-S is the best car Acura has ever made (not the NSX, as that's really a Honda).

I have owned a brand new 2006 ASM TL/NAV auto. I have owned a brand new 2007 ASM TL Type-S auto. I have owned a certified 2006 WDP TL/NAV 6-speed manual.

TYPE-S ALL THE WAY !!!!!

Like others have said, JUST START out with the TYPE-S and you wont spend BIG bucks making it "LOOK LIKE" a TYPE-S. I have done it all.

My 4th 3rd gen WILL BE WDP 07-08 Type-S auto with ebony/grey leather, because I know what the best and what I LIKE

Just trying to help you so you dont waste your money like I did.
A stock 07-08 Type-S is as quick with the 3.5 liter as my WDP TL manual with MANY mods-Intake, catback, etc. 3.5 LITER BABY !!!!!!!

WDP 2008 TYPE-S with an auto-(I would LOVE a manual, but my girlfriend will be driving it, and she is not a manual person). Ebony/Grey leather. Then I will install TEIN SS coilovers, a Progress 24mm RSB, Cleared headlights with switchbacks, LED back-up lights, LED interior lights, an RV6 V3 J-pipe, ATLP quad tip catback, Tinted windows, a bigger 5 channel amp, a sub and sub amp, A-Spec body kit with a custom base front A-Spec lip. I think I covered it.

Good Luck.

GOD BLESS

Interesting. I own a ASM type S and an RDX. I love the RDX...great little suv and very fast for what it is. I love my Type S too but would be just as happy with an RDX IF it had the six speed manual.
