yeah i wanna know if they're would be a difference for good or bad between the 2004 TL and the 2003 TL type-S in terms of insurance rates. For example would the insurance be less because they're is no more type-S notification or will the insurance be more because it does have more power with or without the type-s badging?

It all depends
The amount of insurance you pay depends largely on your driving record and the safely and security features your car has. The insurance rate on a $60,000 car versus a $35,000 probably won't be much different. The key is to stay out of car crashes that are your fault.

Don't feel so bad now
My insurance is going from just under $500/6mo for my 98 Accord 4cyl EX, to $950/6mo for both, with $250,000/$500,000 liability and collision, and uninsured, and wage reimbursement ($2000/mo if home due to car wreck).
I love USAA.. I got my loan and insurance from them. 4.3% for 60mo

insurance rates are also state sensitive NYC & NJ have the highest rates in the country, wether you drive a new or old car or if its $10K or 100K, the liability costs are outragous in these two states

Tell me abt it. I am currently paying $2400 for an s2000. I am 30, married, zero points, perfect driving record (knock on wood) for more 10 years and I have been through performance driving school training! Kills me that if I were living in say VA, i would be paying half of that! I am hoping the TL wont be more than my current car...that would be a deal breaker for sure.

If you lease, your insurance is going to be higher. If you live in a Metropolitan area like Miami, where car thef is hot, expect to pay more. My insurance for a lease 04 TL costs around $1,300 per year from companies like SF.

Had I stuck with State Farm here in Dallas, Tx., I would've had to pay $890 or so every 6 months. I switched over to the Costco/Amex program and I'm paying $630 for the same insurance. But that's going to go up to about $670 because I noticed I only have 25/50 body injury liability.
I have had a clean record for the past 10-12 years, but I live in Dallas county which I was told was the most expensive county for auto insurance in Texas. I feel for some of you people that are paying over $1k and dang, $2k every 6 months. State Farm couldn't tell me why rates were so dang high for someone with a clean record for so long and said it would probably be better to switch to someone else. So I did.

I'm paying $654 every 6 months for both an '04 TL ($349) and '04 TSX ($305). We also have our homeowners insurance through the same company so we get a break on the cost. I was paying $289 on the '99 TL.

My insurance on the 6MT/Navi 2004 is about $720 per year through Progressive. 0 points, clean driving record. I am leasing so I carry very high covereages (100/300, etc) and I carry compreshensive on it. $100 deductible on comp $500 on collision.
Before I had a VIN to check with they ran it as a TL-S and it came up over $800 so it should be comparitively less then a TL-S.

Mine went down from my 2002 BMW 325i. However, I think that is because the insurance companies do not have the specs on the '04 TL, yet. Thus, my company (and I assume everyone else's) used the '03 TL for setting the rate (note, NOT the stype S). When they see the HP, sticker price, etc., I assume that the rates will go up.
