Question Instrument dash lighting

I dont have a TL yet but I hope to within 6 months so I can't test this. I read in another thread that the instrument backlighting defaults to full brightness when you turn the car on. Is this true? It seems that it should stay where you left it last and not go to full bright. Also is this the volume speed sentitive? or does it not have to be since the car is so quiet that there is little road noise coming through at higher speeds

Brightness stays the same as you left it.

You set the volume manualy, not sure if it is speed sensitive.

Right. And there is also very convenient "MAX" button next to the "brightness +/-" control. You push "MAX" once, and the lighting goes into the "daylight" mode, which means full brightness for the LEDs and "daylight" mode of the navigation system.

Then you press "MAX" again, and the lighting goes back to your previously configured settings.

VERY handly when/if you need to put your headlights on at daytime.

I don't think the volume is speed sensitive. I have found myself adjusting the volume when going to or slowing down from highway speeds to compensate for road noise or the lack thereof.

Max and Navi

Another useful tip...

If you Navi screen is set to auto and you have your running lights or headloghts on in the daytime, then the navi screen turns dark (thinks it's night). If you push the MAX button then it switched the Navi screen to daytime mode.

...I think I got that right...
