personally, for me...the TL offers the best of both worlds. it offers a perfect touch of luxury and sportiness. i honestly can say that i really haven't found anything else out there that's like the TL (in regards to the fine line between). i'm attached to the TL - i put a lot of sweat and money into that thing!

the g has a cheap interior.
the navigation very nice though.
buttons look cheap and the freaking buttons on top for the homelink and sunroof are nasty . i bought the car for it's overall value, style and it's driveability. almost bought the 370 but i couldn't afford the insurance (2.5x more than current). glad i didn't...

sorry, random thoughts

So what? Are you going to race a TL-S from 120 mph on? Accept the fact that the new MS3 is a 14 second car. It's not that fast. In fact, it's slower than the old one up to 100mph. Any properly driven TL-S 6MT or bolted base 6MT will beat it in a quarter mile.

It doesn't have to be at 120 mph. Even from 40 mph the MS3 will just walk away.

I'm talking from roll, the MS3 isn't designed for hard take off from stand still. A lot of that power is wasted due to boost cut and extra shifting on the MS3. You can't say it's a slow car because it doesn't have great ET. p.s. the 2nd gen runs better at higher speeds due to improved gearing and more time allowed for the turbo to spool. Do not rely on the mag times so much as MS3 requires excellent driver and the results can still vary greatly. The flywheel is also light and makes it even more difficult to launch right. From roll you get very different results because the traction problem and power boost limit is out of the way. This has been discussed many times before.

Make sure you don't shift your TL to 2nd gear at 32 mph as it will not put you at full power band..

Also the power drop after peak rpm isn't as significant on the 2nd gen so it actually does even better at high speeds (100, 125, and 155). From dig the 1st gen will have the advantage.

All this talk!!! I wanna run an MS3 already.

Mazda, this is my car with my current mods. I will have a 3" exhaust in the next few weeks and hopefully a free flowing Jpipe within the next 2 months. I'm interested to know how my car pulls vs. yours so here's a little video I made. Casual shifting. I wish it didn't cut in and out, oh well.

Mine is completely stock. You might want to check out the mazdaspeed forums and ask them for a couple of runs who live near by you. Many of those guys are modded, some are stock.

Here's one for MS3.

If I go on a MS3 forum and start asking for a run with someone nearby I'm gonna get harrassed.

I already know I don't stand a chance with a modded one as my car stands now. After my new exhaust and Jpipe maybe an I/E MS3, but now I doubt it.

Lol at that vid. It's a GT30.....................far from stock.

You might have a chance with a stock MS3. But a simple intake and a pipe alone will boost by over 40 hp and 40 lb-ft tq. Stock one puts out 270 tq at the wheels.

From the video you posted of your car, it looks like you have some mods. 80-100 took 2 seconds, which is as fast as a Z06. And no Z51 is gonna beat a Z06.

From a roll honestly it'd be a good run with that GT30 MS3...higher speeds you would definitely pull but from say 60-130 I think it'd be relatively close. The MS3s are pretty light and with the GT30 probably make upwards of 360whp, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of what you should put down stock.
