One on the right for me
A couple of us have noticed the indentation...I have a 6spd and I rest my left elbow right in front of the door lock....I think there was a picture of someones indentation floating around...

I've got it to.
I brought my car into the dealer for the A1 service and pointed out the dent. He said that should not be happening and ordered a new dor panel.

Same with me...I got mine replaced. The new one held up well until recently, now I'm just trying to avoid putting my elbow there.

Add me to the list. I pointed out the problem when I first got my Seats replaced. <----------Which NOW the butt prints are BACK. He said he could replace the panel, but if it happens again, the would be nothing he could do until the Acura rep approved it a second time.

I have it too. I notice that after resting my elbow up there by the window it is a HUGE divot at first. But then returns back to the dimple that remaind after the first time I put my elbow up there.

Damn, I thought I was the only one!
This is why I love this forum. It's never let me down. Anyway-I have this stupid indent to, and try to convince myself it is non-existent or that it goes away. I hate that little dimple, but my elbow bone fits right in it every time. Talk about a 'custom-fitted' car. Any remedies yet?

the fix
Sure bitch to acura...
I am amazed that people do not mind the wear that they get after just a month of driving this car. Even after 20k you should not be getting all the issues with rattles, etc Not for a 34k car.

gochan it's on the left. I dunno why it makes a differance with 6MT. I've 6MT and I've that dimple too. I thought it will go away but not. Initially someone had posted it 8-9 months back and I said I do not have it. But it appeared after constant resting elbow in the window. Need to ask dealer if he'd replace it. However, I rest it there all the time so replacing would not solve this problem I guess.

I had the same dimple on my 99 TL when I traded it for my 05. It was more pronounced than the one in the pic above.
I am careful not ot put my elbow there on this car. I can think of worse things to complain about than a dimple, but it is annoying.

Have you guys notices any marks on the door panel?.... Its that back border that is right next to the door armrest...it's one peice if material that runs at an angle down the door?.....
These marks BUGG tha hell out of me.....I got it on both sides (passenger & driver)...its like little hand markes from grasping the door handle from the inside...
I plan to mention it to the Dealer, but I was wondering if any of you noticed this problem??

Beautiful D.P.
I guess I am amazed at the amount of issues with the TL Door. I have been driving mine for a while and although I do rest my elbow on the door upper, I have not seen the issue. In fact I love the door! The style, color and fit is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
Kudos to Acura. Great job on the door styling

OMG i can't believe I found a thread about this lol.
Ya I have that little indention cus I used to rest my elbow in that same spot everytime. I noticed it a couple months ago and haven't rested my elbow on it since then but it is still there. I saw this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179014 where you can supposedly use dry ice to get out dents from your outside body panel but i DOUBT it would work for for this lol. I still have warranty on my car so you are saying I can go to my dealer and they can replace the panel for free because this shouldn't happen? I have about 45k on mine and it's an '04 btw.

Keep Right Except to Pass
I remember reading about this issue on this forum when I first joined back in 2004. As a result, I almost never rest my elbow up there in the TL. Took some getting used to at first, that's for sure! So it's not a "new" issue by any stretch of the imagination.

Can't believe there is a post about this.... but I definitely have it too in my '07 TL. I'd get it changed out, but I can't seem to prevent myself from resting my elbow there... so guess it just will keep coming back. sigh..... luckily it is not as pronounced as some of the other ones I've seen here
