Imprint On Dash Coming Through

Fellow TL'ers any body notice an imprint above on the top of the dash above the glove box? It is a rectangular shape with a line down across the center. I've left the car in the sun a few days and just recently noticed.

Wondering if it is the airbag showing through. It definitely won't wipe off. It is like the imprint is a discolored outline.

There is no way this can be fixed. Or I will say I would never let them take apart the dash. Think there is rattles now. If they take the dash apart the thing would sound like a bucket of bolts.

Appreciate your reports.

I love this car, but there are a few things that may drive me over the edge.

thx,

That's probably the seam in the dash for the airbag. All TLs will have that. You'll also find one on your steering wheel cover.

I have that too but considering that many cars have visible seams for airbags I wouldn't worry about it.

took mine in this week - I pointed the same thing out - I posted it somewhere here - "the mysterious rectangle" same thing, just suddenly started catching my eye. Yep - it is the airbag below - so when it blows, it does not blow your dash apart. They are going to clean up my dash as I complained the Ebony looked dirty etc. We'll see if it makes it not so noticeable. No biggie I guess...just weird how one day it was just there - like a crop circle.... :sqnteek:

Same thing... That's weird. At least it's for a good reason, not just a flaw.
I will live with it... I am the only one that's noticed so far.

The seam certainly looks a lot better than the big discolored panel on my old 2k TL's dash.
