I'm waiting for the Short Shifter

I've ordered it from Comptech last week. It's been scheduled to be here today~~!!!
I'll take pictures and post it. Last time I test drove TSX and I felt throwing gear for TL wasn't short as I felt when I drove TSX. I wonder how short it'll become...

It took me almost 3 hours to do that. my finger nail got broken..ouch.... HOwever now throwing gear is much more short, fast, very fun and tight. It feels very different from stock shift. I guess Everyone who drives manual must get this thing. sorry no pics... i couldn't wait for the camera battery to be charged.

Ok, now it's time for someone to figure out how to install this on the automatic transmission. That way, it'll only be half an inch from park to drive.

:jealous:

It's $49 plus s/h.
You'll love the feel. Now it's like a sports sedan.
But It's not that easy job to do.
You need to do lots of interior work.
Even the manual comptech provided was kinda poor...
you'll get into several difficulties but you are the one who's fixing your car and that's the beauty of this job.
I started work kinda late, so in the middle of work, it got very dark... and was hard for me too see under the dash..
try starting to work in the early day time.

You need to put just little more effort and you'll be in next gear in blink of an eye. This is the right feeling. You can't imagine how fast and firm is shifting from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3.

Dreamer,

Does it raise the height of the shifter at all? I have been eyeing this mod, and would LOVE to see some pics

In regards to performance, is the smoothness of the stock shift gate remain?? I love the 'feel' of the stock shifting (not notchy at all) but would LOVE to have shorter throws!!

i'm with you on that, the stock shifter feels great when entering each gear. i don't want to change that at all, a shorter throw would be nice, but if it takes a lot more effort or changes the stock shifting "sensation" then i would probably not want to change things.

Dreamstudio, I just received mine. Any hints and suggestions before I install the kit. I was womdering how difficult it was to take out the center console and all those clips. Do they snap off easy? I really don't want to scratch the interior. Once I get this I want to hit up that voodoo shift knob.

Hardest Part for me to install the short shifter was the 1st step...
removing the trim.... But good new is Now I know how to easily remove it!
when you follow the instruction, in step #1, start to remove the center console trim from the center console. not from the top where the HAVC panel.
Be very cautious when you remove the hooks(C).
Put the mid size flat screw driver wrapped with thin cloth(for protect any cosmetic damage to the HVAC panel) between the aluminum center console trim and the HVAC unit.
Once again, be cautious not to break the HVAC panel.
Never twist the trim. if you put in the flat screw driver to where the C hooks, you'll easily take it off.
don't underestimate the work time. It will easily take 3 or more hours to do it.
Hope you get the blitzkrieg shift throwing soon.

Height is same as before. It makes no difference about looks.
After installing a short shifter, I like its sporty feeling of putting into gears.
Yes, it's less smooth but not hard to change the gear.
If you think pushing the clutch is already hard for you, then forget about installing it.
You can change gear in a blink of an eye, while you only moves your wrist.
