Who has a 07 Type S TL? I know I'm new to this community, but I'm already tired of the people on here that think they know it all and aren't willing to help us new people out. For all you guys running the Comptech SC , what are you going to do now that they are no longer? I am willing to send my TL to Ripp to have them do the SC on it , guaranteeing me that i will break 400 HP , and besides that their tied in with a company that has been around for 30 years( VORTEk). Who are you going to have fix your stuff when it breaks now? Is there anyone else that owns a TL that would truly love to see what their car will do , instead of just following in the footsteps of those that have only been able to get 307Hp , you know who you are.

 

What are you talking about? The Azine community is one of the most respectful forums out there, the most informative, and helpful.

If you feel that you have unwarrantably been made fun of or not given attention to, then i apologize on behalf of the community. But if that is really the case, then you must have said or done something wrong to make people act that way towards you.

I am new to this whole acura scene have gone to several members basically on my knees asking for their help and they wont give me the time of day, there are 2 i can count and i mean 2 ,DATplaya and TLfourplay that have given me time out of there busy day, so what am i suppose to think?

 

then learn to use the search button. people on this forum just dont feel like having to deal with idiots that cant read or follow simple instructions

also not everyone in the world is going to have time to help you. THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU. other people are busy with shit going on in their lives and if they dont feel like doing something to help someone else, thats not their problem. if you want help, go get help but get it in the right place

 

I am new to Acurazine as well. In the 2 months I have been on here, I have been helped by more members, in more ways than I can count.

Your post is an insult to the community, and I do not believe it is the best way to get assistance.

If you truly want help on something, ask for it, or do a search.

I've been helped so much and in so many ways, I couldn't even count them all. I've only been on here a few months myself.

Here's the deal: some people think they know it all, some people are super-nice, some people are a mix of the two, some people are flat-out jerks... and so on and so forth. Such is the world. My estimation is that you'll find a higher percentage of people in this forum who are here to be helpful than you will in the "real" world. Try running that tone with someone at mechanic shop and you'll probably get a ratchet to the side of the head, much less anyone wanting to actually help you.

 

Maybe some people have a job. What are the odds??!??!?!? Crazy idea huh?

How have you gone on your knees to ask for help? What kind of help? Could you have searched for a thread that has been discussed numerous amounts of times and beatin to death?

The 3G garage is a great guide that has pretty much everything that has been discussed. It has been narrowed down rather then reading all the threads out there.

And who are you to judge a couple member's actions and base it as a generalization of how the whole community acts?

You don't like the community, then you are more then welcome to leave. Tons of people join this forum everyday with no problem. I have pm'ed people back who have asked for help. There are times when I am not able to reply to a question with a complete 33 page response like is required(exaggeration for best dramatic effect). There are also times that I have not had a chance to get on here and check up on the forum for weeks. It is what it is. If you can't get an answer, you should have searched first in the first place. If you have searched and not gotten an answer, then ask someone else for help.

But DO NOT diss this community. Your negativeness is not welcome here if it continues.

honestly, you need to lighten up a little... people will help, but you have to be patient enough to do a search yourself first or wait until people reply to your posts... You're coming in sounding like you want all the answers all at once (at least it did in the parts of your post that made sense)... there's no need to be bitter, tho, because, like ayethetiense said, Acurazine's one of the best car forums out there and everyone on here is real helpful and respectful, you just have to give it a chance

3G has the most helpful members ever. There are some who are on my list but the vast majority will go way out of their way for you.

Also, I just read all your posts. Not once does it look like you even tried a search.

So no, you wont get any help from me unless you at least prove you've tried to search the abundance of threads on every subject you could possibly think of.

and the nerve you have to start a thread to complain about us. I should ban you just for general purpose...

 

General advice for all:

1) Search.
2) Search again.
3) Read all 50 pages in the thread, including the nonsensical drivel that makes up 75% of it.
4) Search again.
5) Ask very nicely for help.

All of this is underscored by being patient, humble, and grateful.

And if you really want to live on the edge, be like this in real life, not just the virtual one.

I know for a fact that if it weren't for the help of the members of this forum that my type s would have been a test bed for bad ideas. as it stands since i had the help of this forum i have yet to install a single mod on my car that hasn't gone extremely smooth. as to getting my car to 400 hp.. yeah that would be great. why don't you do it then post and help us out? i don't have the money to risk making unproven changes to my car.

okay sry for blowing up, this is my 1st acura and i have tried using the search several times to really get no firm answer , then went to certain members , then resulting im me being out of control. Sry again to the forum

 

Search can be frustrating at first, then you start looking thru forums and find most answers.

Yes, some get annoyed when a new thread is started asking the same questions about oil changes and check engine lights. Reading the owners manual goes a long way to understanding you car.

why waste money to get it upto 400HP FWD? get EVO or STI and crank it up as much as you want. If you feel EVO or STI has no luxury feelin into it, get RS6 or M5 to fulfill your HP needs

He wants to spend money on it because he does. NO other car out there can match what the TL has to offer in tech and luxuries besides the G35, which I doubt he wil trade off for. If he wants to spend money on a 400+ FWD car, then let him. By doing this, he is helping out the acura communtiy by have in aproduct made that can benifit other people, and now this is an important time since Comptech has closed and will have ZERO warretny on their products. First, the Comptech is based on an Eaton paddle SC... a known super reliable system from a common OEM provider company.
RIPP? who? do they have any TL products? You go do that... Sounds like you've been drinking the RIPP kool-aid. Show me a "mock-up", that shows they have at a minimum assessed the engine bay requirements and I'll eat my word.

400 HP on a FWD car... is just dumb. Not only will you not be able to keep the wheels stuck to the ground, but you get the added side benfit of losing total control of the car.
Nevermind the headgasket, clutch, and tranny problem you're gonna get. There' more to an "engine mod" than getting that one time 400HP push, then promptly breaking something else in the drivetrain... sounds like you've given this plenty of thought though...

I am not worried about my supercharger breaking down at all even though Comptech is no longer around. The supercharger is not even made by comptech and parts and rebuilt kit are commonly avaliable.

With my 3.5L engine swap, custom pulley, etc etc, I am hoping I would get close to 400whp, but since no one have tried it before, no one will know until I dyno it. Still have a long way to go as we have to figure out the tuning part first

However I would love to see RIPP come out with a supercharger kit with the rotrex supercharger.
