Illuminated sills

I know there is a thread on this..well a few actually and I posted there but no one has responded (figure people were tired of reading old threads lol).

Anyway my question (or problem) is I have the red sills for an 08 TL-S and I need help installing them or a recommendation of a shop that can do it. It seems to be basic wiring however a) I am not comfortable with doing car wiring and b) the shop I brought it to did it but not correctly. I will be having them remove the sills and putting it back to factory (luckily there was no wiring cut or spliced) so I need to find a place that can do it right. Any suggestions on LI?

here, read this, maybe itll help you

http://www.sbadesign.com/acurazine/sills/

These things arent too hard to install you just have to get in there and do it, if you get confused or frustrated walk away for a few mins.
I know you mentioned you didnt wanna do it yourself so here is my suggestion. Post something up in the NY regional section that you are looking for some help doing this. I am SURE there is a member in your area that would be happy to give you a hand throwing these in. There are a TON of azine members in your area, dont be afraid to ask them for help, most are very helpful and friendly!

thanks for the advice I didn't even think of the regional forum. I posted there but I might just suck it up and try it myself. I am so picky that I want it perfect and no one would take the care that I would so may as well try it.

But we'll see what happens

^^Honestly, they are not that difficult to install. I recommend getting a test light from any auto parts or electronics store and using the DIY posted above. This was one of my first mods and I am no electrician, either. I had minimal assistance from my neighbor when my wire color schemes weren't matching the DIY, but once we figured out which wires were hot with the door open (using the test light), we were golden!

I hear ya and the test light thing sounds like a good idea but I guess I am over thinking how to use it and such before I even open it up lol

It's funny i can rebuild computers and do a/v stuff and all that but a simple wiring tap in a car has me freaked out lol. oh well we'll see what happens

thanks though for everyone's help

If you can do PCs and AV (I'm in the same career), you can do these.

Guys, this install just takes time...if you want to do it right. Buda did my install-I assisted, and it took us 4-1/2 hours. Buda knew exactly what he was doing and he did an outstanding job. Just be careful and read the DIY carefully.

Steven...is Buda a member of this forum? If so I'd like to pick his brain because I have read the DIY numerous times and still have some questions based on what I am reading and looking at the physical sills and wiring.

Thanks for all the help guys. I sent buda a message. I have been reading and rereading the DIY to pump myself up but parts of it are like say what? I know it should be sooo easy but I don't wanna get inside and have it taken apart and then be like um ok now what lol.

OH and definitely will have pics when it is all done. I have done a few things to the car already and after the sills and a few more things it will be complete...for now of course lol
