If you need to change a battery, READ this!

My second battery died today on my 06 TL.

This is what I read before buying the car battery.

http://www.fatwallet.com/static/atta...teriesinfo.pdf

I ended up buying the Everstart Maxx from Walmart for 85 bucks with 3 years free replacement.

Will see how it goes.

Hope this review is useful for any of you guys who need to change the battery.

I have the Interstate MTP-24F in my GS and 4Runner. I'm just waiting for the TL's battery to die to swap it out to an MTP.

Nice. So the Kirkland I popped in last fall wasn't a bad deal at all for $60. Not at all.

The average battery life in this car is about 3½ years. My 2nd was the Everstart Maxx from Walmart, but that one started having staying power issues after 2½ years. I now have the Auto Craft Gold from Advance Auto Parts about a year and a ½. So far, so good. And because it was my 1st online order from them, I paid nowhere near the posted price.

Indeed, I replaced my battery with Kirkland 3 years ago- it's a good battery. There are no signs of weakness and you can easily monitor replace the fluid levels too. The 36/100 month warranty is pretty good, but not the best- comparable for the price point though. I would buy another one again.

What is it that makes Acura batteries die so quickly? Just curious, mines been replaced twice over the last two years.

Cheap garbage that's meant to only last that long and with only 550 CCA's.

Just like with tires, Ya think they'll put the best out there straight from the factory? All the '04 TL's came with crappy garbage Bullshitstone Turanza EL-42 tires. 3 flats and nealy missing 2 major accidents from hydroplaning, I dumped them when the car had 600 miles on it.

550CCA sounds a joke to me. Yeah, I wouldn't think Acura will put good battery either. I have heard really good stories about Diehard Platinum. Just 200 bucks for that extra "premium" doesn't seem that attracting to me.

Still, I guess any of these brands from Costco, Walmart and Sears will be fine for 2-3 years with the free replacement of three years
