I wonder what's the catch???

I was on Craiglist trying to see if I could luck up on a new steering wheel and I came across this (link below). A Type S with 38k on the clock and they're only asking 16,250 . Someone may want to check it out if they're in the market for one.

That's crazy that place has like an entire row of TLs. Car looks great in the pictures, but the only way an 08 with 30 some K miles would be listed in the mid teens is if it has a salvage/flood/theft/rebuilt title or whatever. Remember, dealers aren't there to give people absolute steals, they are there for one reason only....to make money. Unfortunately, that Type S has issues regardless of how nice it looks in the pics.

^^^ LOL like I said. Hopefully that answers your question. I wouldn't even pay 7k for that rebuilt wreck.

One hell of a catch. 38K miles for $16K was way to good to be true.

Maybe it's just me, but the battery looks out of place and crooked. The fuse box looks like it got pushed up and never fixed. The top of the fuse box is above the tower strut bar and it's pushed back against the bar. That ain't right.

I have a question on this, how is it possible they repaired the vehicle? I mean the airbags alone would be a few $1,000 + the other repairs were talking BIG bucks. Is there that much profit to be made by the seller?

It's not just you.
The strut bar should be the high point, and everything should be at right angles and level, unlike the fuse box and the battery (which is at a 15* angle when its long side should be parallel to the windshield & firewall) in that advertised TL.

Going to their advertised website, the dealer's slogan is: "Where Acura's are Reborn".

I would definitely stay away from that TL, but I would like to add that the work done to the car looks good from the outside... but I'm curious how the car looks internally.

At least they provided the VIN, so they're more or less upfront about the history of the car, in the sense that they're giving the buyer a chance to lookup the history. At that point it's up to the buyer to decide if they want to buy it.

I still feel they should provide that information upfront instead of making the buyer search though.

They have a nice MRP type-S on sale...so sexy but at that price it's probably tainted as well LOL.

Holy telephone pole batman!

But truthfully, if it weren't for the side damage, I'd be half tempted. I purchased an Accord with previous side damage (didn't find out until I purchased the car). It never rode right. The frame was bent, only slightly. But a little bit of frame damage goes a long way unfortunately.
