today i noticed a bunch of annoying little rattles. i've decided i'm going to stop caring. unless something major happens i've just decided i'm not going to care. i love my TL and its little faults are no big deal and i'm going to try to ignore them.
my dealership just pisses me off. i took it to them for sub rattle and they couldn't fix it. all they said was they would "research" it. they had my car for over a day and didn't find a solution.
I took mine in for the "rear sub rattle" issue. I thought it was the rear deck that was making all of the racket, but they found some clip that was loose in one of the rear seat belt mechanisms. I think it was the rear-passenger one. Now, I only hear the rattle on certain songs; like DJ Baby Anne stuff with heavy, low bass notes. And it's not quite as loud of a rattle as it used to be. Now, about that rattle in the passenger door......

I'm gunna go to Dick Hannah and burn out on their lot just for you maybe go and fart some kimchee into their showroom.

You might want to just wait it out a bit. The first few months I had my car, I heard some rattles. Now that I've had it for a while, almost all of them are no longer there. There is one that has remained and is consistent and reproducible, so I will get that fixed during my next service.
When winter comes along, I plan to listen closely to see if any additional rattles surface (my experience is that rattles tend to be more pronounced in extreme cold weather). If they persist, I'll get them fixed.
I think the key to getting the dealer to fix rattles is to isolate the problem. Figure out under what conditions it happens, including the speed your traveling, the weather conditions, radio settings, climate control settings, what you are doing at the time, etc. It may sound like overkill, and may seem like too much work (sometimes it's not easy to isolate the rattle), but it will save you trips back to the dealer. Then, when you bring it in, make sure they know the exact way to reproduce the rattle (take the service manager for a ride and show them if at all possible). When you pick up the car, verify immediately that the problem is fixed. If not, bring it right back.
I've done this in the past and I've had good luck with it.
