I need some recommendation on Jacks and Stands

I live in an Apartment Building and i never bothered with any messy work on my car like oil changes and such. But lately i just have the urge to do things myself since i dont feel like going places i dont trust and places where i do, are just to busy sometimes so i hate the waiting part. And of course i could save a little money too.

I wanna do the 3x3 transmission oil change and i was thinking to use the rhino ramps but from what it looks like, having an A-spec lip kit on my TL it might not work that well.

So im thinking to spend a little more but nothing crazy and get a jack and a pair of jack stands. I looked some up on the Sears website and saw this offer

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...2&blockType=G2

its a3 ton jack with two stands and a creeper for 99+tax.

Im not planing to do any crazy work with it. just regular maintenance and maybe simple performance additions.

I think that's good enough for regular DIY. Just don't go cheap on Jack Stands.

Have you checked Sears BF sales? Maybe there might be a sale on a jack and stands.

i recently changed out my entire suspension setup with these:

Hydraulic bottle jack = $10 at Harbor Freight
Pair of 2 ton Duralast jack stands = $25 at Autozone

should be sufficient for your needs.

I was thinking to get those 4ton ones. At least they seem much safer. Which Jack would you recommend that is not to expensive either...

the thing is. the jack from the $ 99 set seems to be $69 on its own... and with the 99 set i get a creeper but i guess the stands are not that great which really should be the most important part. So i dont know ...
