I bet im gonna be the only owner like this but we'll see.
My name is Desmond for starters and I am a paraplegic. I traded my 08 Honda Accord EX-L/Navi coupe which was much easier to transfer from the wheel chair due to longer doors. My local honda dealer which is like family to me, was the one to push me to drive again. Before my spinalcord injury i purchased 98 Prelude Type SH, 99' Honda Passport EX-L, 00' S2000, 03 Acura CL Type-S 6speed, b16b powered 95 Civic EX coupe (was in wreck that caused injury). I decided that now being 30 that I wanted a nice sports sedan and my dealer just happened to have what i wanted (07' ASM TL w/Tech pkg). I'll post pix soon.
I do have one question. My dealer has a 04' TL with A-spec 18's. The question is have they changed the tpms sensors in any year 3rd gen tl or will the need to transplant my sensor in the A-spec wheels?
BTW I drive using Menox hand controls...lol.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome ! It awesome to see that you took the initiative and are driving again! Poke around the forums and you'll see some of the simple, yet amazing things you can do to your TL to make it stand out and make it feel more comfortable to you!
As far as the A-Spec wheels are concerned, the 2004 and 2005 TL didn't have TPMS so I doubt the sensors are in those wheels. BUT you never know and they could be in there, the easiest way to spot them is look at the valve stem (where you fill air). If it's black rubber, no sensor. If it's silver colored and metal, then it has the sensor!
If those wheels don't have the sensors, your dealership can take them easily out of your current wheels and put them on the A-Specs. I believe they would charge you to dismount and remount the tires, and maybe some labor to put the sensors in if the dealership really wants money. But the way it sounds like is that they are family, and I hope they continue to treat you like family

Yup, csmeance there too on drive accord There isn't much JDM stuff for the TL since it's only sold in the US and Canada, but there is some cool stuff to make it unique yet tasteful! Take a look at JPTL04's TL and it's probably one of the cleanest TL's out there.

Welcome Des! I saw that you added me as a friend here on AZ about a week ago. I've been meaning to message you since you live in Wilmington, but kept forgetting.
I'm glad to hear that your disability hasn't kept you from being behind the wheel. That's amazing and I wish you the best
Congrats on your recent TL purchase as well! Be sure to post pictures sometime. Also there are AZ meets a few times a year in both Raleigh and Charlotte. Hopefully you'll make the drive over for the next one whenever it happens.

Yea thx. Take this with a grain of salt but. I HATE the word "disabled" and here's why. I live on my own, Work f/t as a flight instructor (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Unv. grad B.S. in Aeronautical Science), and of course I get around on my own. Since my spinalcord injury (04'), I've started surfing (do it almost daily) and scuba diving . My point im making is thsat the word disabled to me means to always need assistance in some capacity. I go to bed daily with sore muscles but i smile everyday to know that this "sore" feeling was because I did everything that day MYSELF ...
But I digress. My baby brother is a Capt. for US Airways and lives in CLT (Charlotte) and my best friend lives in Raleigh so you better believe I'll be a both. If you ever wanna get to the beach, I have an extra bedroom/bath.
Thx for the warm welcome everyone... Be safe.

You are so right man, I love the roar of the TL. I've always been more of a Toyota guy but I drove my friends 04 TL 5AT a few months ago and it was so nice. I lost my XRS in a bad accident in february which left me with a broken femur and put me in a wheelchair for 2months. Im using a cane to walk now but i still ache everyday.

My Ma used to tell me this daily. "There's always someone worse than you". My point is, be glad and pray everyday that you werent left wheelchair bound after your accident as people like myself. I'd be so for getting out of this chair and using a cane everyday...lol. I was in a power chair my 1st 3 months post accident so my situation today is like walking compared to that time in my life. Stay strong bro. You know i go to our local rehabilitation hospital and speak to spinalcord patients and i tell them that there is a time every day that you are walking. In dreamland... In my dreams to this day even though its been 6yrs post accident, i'm never in a wheelchair in my dreams... it's great to run/jump or whatever...lol.

Welcome man Excellent color choice, with some A-SPEC's that would really set it off- although I think the OEM base 07-08 rims are quite similar to the A-SPEC's...but still, the SPECS are my favs also, tried to check out the pics on the Facebook page, and it wasnt loading, not sure if its a privacy setting on FB or could be the page just wasnt cooperating anyway Des, glad to have ya boss
