I am in the process of trying to find a fairly low mile CLEAN unmolested 04 or 05 TL. In my search I have found some overpriced ones, some beat ones but this one looks great. What Should I look for when I look at this car, known problem defects etc. and does this seem like a fair price.

It is a little strange that there is no carfax info for this car, before it was sold at an auction with 12k miles on it.
You may want to search the forums to see what to look for. I am sure I have seen this question many times before.
Also your typical used car lot, is pretty much the last place you would want to buy a car from. Most will sell anything and have no conscience. But then dealers are not much better anyway. They also get a lot of cars from auctions and have no clue about the history.

Sucks you can't get it certified. That's a really good deal. I just bought my 05 6MT w/ Navi for $17500. It had 52K on it when I got it but since it was certified it had all kinds of goodies already done to it. New tires, new brakes, fluids, all that good stuff. I tacked on an extra $1200 and I have a full warranty til 100K which I'm LOVING. No maintenance costs for the next 50K miles of my car. WOOHOO!

Do the 05's have a tire pressure monitor in it.

yes they do and you NEED TO RUN THE VIN PAST ACURA AND YOUR INSURANCE CO to se if the car has been flagged for voided warranty and accidents

what do you mean... how can you have a voided warranty

simple, previous owner caused the damage resulting in a voided warranty

Even when you scroll to the screen where it says TRIP COMPUTER, then hit Select, it doesn't come up? Should be there along with total miles, time, and avg mph.

needless to say I looked at the car and I was quite impressed. One of the Nicer looking TLs in my price range, 49k miles for $14,999. I put a deposit on it so for the most part its mine unless something goes horibly wrong. I just have a coupe questions. It looks like the car has some sort of aftermarket body kit compared to all the other TLs I've seen. Where can I get either factory floor mats or custom "TL" embroidered ones. The car is missing the owners manual bundle thing, where can I get that aside from an Acura Dealer. But the car is clean with exception of the occasional light scratch.

The add you linked shows a TL with the "A-spec" body kit OEM option.
Floor mats can be ordered from Acura, either on-line from the aftermarket or Acura dealer sites, or in person from a nearby Acura dealership. Check to make sure the mats aren't in the trunk, though.

Nice looking car. But I would do as previously suggested, check out that VIN to make sure there's no glaring issues with it. I think you can also order a carfax report yourself to check it out. Good luck & hope it works out for ya! Anthracite FTW!

I too am looking at a couple of the cars at Automax. Did you see the red 2005 they want $17900 for? What condition was it in. I am assuming you are having Bernardi's acorss the street do a PPI on it? I would be curious how your buying experience was with them. I work about 1.5 miles from their shop and stopped in once to look at a G35X.

There is no TPMS on an 05 TL.

The car looks good though. I agree with the advice. Get it checked and go for it if it looks clear.

I stopped in there about 2 weeks ago... and let me tell you the have quite a fleet of nice preowned TL's. They had 2 red ones there, as well as silver, dark blue, and dark gray. I delt with a Randy Sassone there (great guy not a pushy used car salesman at all) The only reason I did not buy from there is because their selection was just a little out of my price range. All of their TLs were 2005 and they had around 23-40k miles on them and they were priced from $17,999-$22,000. If you can swing it ask for Randy he is easily the best car sales man I have ever delt with.

I wanted one with nav but they are tougher to find plus everyone wants too much if they have navi... anyways I have a little navigation unit and my phone has navi as well.

When I was there I talked to Randy as well. Reminds me of one of the Soprano's guys (he was in the Bad Boy movies too). yeah he was a non BS'r.

I bought from the Automax in the Marlboro Location. They got a blue 05 in currently. Were you not impressed with the fleet that they had at the Framingham location or what.
