Solution to part 1: get an A-Spec suspension....stat! That will improve that problem in a hurry. You must also keep in mind that this is a heavy (3500 lb), FWD car.

Solution to part 2 (turning radius): Yes, it sucks. Driving this car in parking lots is NOT a joy at all.

HTH..

With the exception of AutoX!!

Ya...there isnt much you can do about turning radius....its not good at all. Also have 5AT....try procat setup/lighter UR crank pulley and a set of Outlaw Thermoblok spacers. That will also help. BUT....as stated....it is a heavy car. If you want to get over that fact...get a supercharger. That will get you up and going. I think the fastest 1/4 mile time by a 3G TL belongs to a 5AT....believe it or not.

It's a trade off...

The TL is a medium weight luxury touring car, sort of like a BMW 5-series except with FWD, in which refined stability is given more value by engineers than lightness or immediate responsiveness. The trade off choice is either a TSX or an RXS-s, but with corresponding reduction in refinement. I noticed the TL's heavier "feel" particularly when compared with the RX-8 manual I tested before getting the TL auto. The G35 sedans didn't feel any lighter or nimbler than the TL on my test drives, though.

Yes, the turning radius is wider than desireable, even for a FWD car. Our Odyssey has a better turning radius by about a foot. Fortunately, the TL does otherwise handle better than the Odyssey....

The TL certainly is a tank.

I often find it hard to execute U turns and backing into parking spaces.

Other huge suggestion to improve handling..and the best upgrade for the $$ IMO is add a Comptech Rear Sway Bar for approx. $100 great improvement!

get a good set of after market spring/ shock, that should improve the handling tremendously.

there is nothing one can do about the turning radius. front wheel drive and wide tires are the culprits. learn to get use to the car.

uh.. tanks can turn within it's own width.

Before the TL I test drove the 300C... it's like driving a concrete bunker.

Go w/ Neuronbob's suggestion and get the A-spec suspension.

Good question. Compared to the C5 I was driving this car DOES feel like a tank. That said, it is supposed to be sedan with the focus on Luxury what happens to be "sporty". If you compare it to a 300C or even a CTS [which I also drove for a year] you'll see the TL isn't really that bad for what it suppose to be. If ya want handling buy a C6 - it's like it's on rails.

FWIW, I have Comptech RSB on order as after driving a TL with it there is quite a noticable difference for the small $$$ it costs. Enjoy the TL .
