How Would I do
give him a run just for fun and see what happends. It is hard to predict what the outcome will be without knowing what his car weighs and what he dyno'd. Power to weight ratio is probably in his favor as torque to weight ratio is in your favor.

tell him you understand if he wants to wait until next year especially after what happened the last time. tell him if you were him, you do the same as you wouldn't want your winter ruined either.
I'd give it to the Del Sol from 100 up just cause your TL will fall on it's face in 4th gear. But <100mph, I think you might be able to edge him out but I'm not to sure. I've never had the opportunity to race a Civic/Integra/Del Sol with a GSR swap. Someday.
OH and thank God it doesn't snow in CA! We race year round.

hahahalucky its what 14 degrees here in im the only Tl that races in i love it cuz i beat people who think just cuz im a large sedan that walk me in i beat them lol
Power is just a derivative of torque vs RPM, a measure of how much work the engine is capable of by using torque and RPM (Torque x RPM/5252). That said, a drag race is basically about average area under the curve in your racing RPM range (decided by gear spacing and shift point), gearing, and weight. Sure, a GSR swap will have "low" torque, but it makes good torque at higher RPMs, where a smaller amount of torque amounts to more horsepower and thus acceleration. For example, 150 torque at 8000 RPMs >>>> 300 torque at 3000 rpms, by a huge margin.
Oh who am I kidding trying to explain this. Torque wins races! blah blah...
