How is the ride with the factory 18" wheels?

For those few of you who opted for this option -- i'm curious about these wheels -- love the way they look, however I don't want the ride to be too stiff, nor do I want bent rims after 1 week of driving on city streets.

What do you think?

Thanks man -- do you drive in the city -- are you worried about bent rims when hitting a pothole, etc?

From A-Spec Pricing announcement, I'm sur ethey are the same 18's you can get from the dealer ala carte

"The A-SPEC kit also includes 18-inch alloy wheels. Designed using a new, advanced manufacturing process that provides forged strength and rolled manufacturing ease, the wheel rims are thinner yet stronger than a cast alloy wheel. Also, while they are one-inch larger in diameter, and half an inch wider than the production TL wheels, the A-SPEC wheels are only slightly heavier. They are shod with high performance AVS ES100 235/40VR18 95W Yokohama tires designed specifically for the TL A-SPEC package. These tires provide excellent ride quality, especially for a 40 series aspect ratio, as well as optimum grip and predictable response under high performance conditions."

I probrably going with 19's after lookin at jimmy's ride

TL -- that's good stuff, thanks for the info! I guess at this point I just don't want the 18's to bog down the power compared to the 17's..

thanks again

\\My dealer wanted $2K for 18" option with Yoko ES100. I decided I wanted to keep the original wheels for winter time, so I bought the rims from ebay. There are a set on ebay right now for $920. IMO that is the way to go.

Peter, Check out the Yokohama AVS DBS2's. They may be what you are looking for. I am currently running the dealer installed ES 100's, but will be upgrading to the DBS2's for their all season capabilities and more quiet ride.

V/R,
Nick

Check out Falken or Kuhmo tires. They are a lot less than the bigger name tires and are the choice of many auto crossers. I bought the Falken ST-115 for non-winter and I will be putting Blizzak LM-22 on the stock rims for the winter.

Do a search for Falkens
