How often do you get stopped for tints?

Got pulled over and ticketed once in a 2000 Accord with real light tints (can't remember the numbers) by the CHP down near the Colorado river..
Called my neighbor (he's in law enforcement) over to the house to see if he would sign off the ticket for me...he came over, looked at my cars and asked where the car was that had the tint on it!! lol
He couldn't believe some azzwipe ozzifer would write it up

35% all around. Pulled once for it in 4 years and the cop put the meter up to it and it said 17%. I thought it was when he said it to me but I saw it with my own eyes

I've had my windows tinted for over a year now and never got stopped for having my windows tinted! However, I have gotten a ticket for my windows about 6 months ago after being stopped for speeding. The trooper gave me a warning for speeding and a ticket for the windows.

Never in 10 years and I drive in NYC constantly. However I got a tint ticket 2x, but that's because they pulled me over for speeding and issued tint tickets instead to be nice. 15% all around. Previous cars had 20% all around. And I had windshields tinted.
EDIT: It just dawned on me.. I bet they are pulling people over more for petty shit now to generate money for the city due to the economy. Makes sense.

Definately depends on where you live. I have never gotten a ticket for tint in my 12 years of driving. Currently I drive my wifes car, which has 20% all around, and my TL which has 35% on the 4 doors and 5% on the rear windshield. I am really happy with my current tint setup.

Been about a year now, and I have been issued one $50 ticket (out of town). I drive by at least 10 cops a day in this small town with my windows up, and they don't seem to care. I also have 5% tints...

For the most part, getting pulled over for tint is just bad luck. Of course, there are some areas that are more strict about it. I got pulled over, for tint only, a few months ago and was given a fix-it ticket (20% tint). Second time I've been pulled over for tint in about 13 years. There's no ryhme or reason. I had been pulled over before for speeding (only given a warning) once during the day and once at night when I had the 20 on and it was never mentioned. Then one day I'm pulling into my neighborhood and get pulled over strictly for the tint.
It's a huge hassle having to get the tint removed and reinstalled, but it's the risk you take. What really pissed me off though was when I went to the police station to get the ticket signed the officer at the desk didn't even look at the car. Just asked if I took it off and signed.......
After having to deal with that I went with 35% this time. Wish I had it 20% still but I don't feel like having to deal with it again. Technically though, if metered, the 35% tint would still read illegal. Hopefully I don't run into an officer that is that picky.
