I'm changing the oil in the car for the first time on the TL and I'm wondering how much oil I'm supposed to add? I'm reading the manual and it lists the capacity at 4.5 qt of oil. I've put in 4.5 qt and when checking the dipstick it's only about half way up. Is that correct?

 

4.5 quarts worked perfectly for me, and I've read the same from others. If you are sure the car is on level ground, but is still a little low, you could add enough to bring it up to the line. Anywhere between the lines is OK, but I like to do it right and keep that area between the lines full of oil.
