How much lower is A-Spec from base?
Hi all,
I'm considering the RonJon body kit. I'm in Canada and drive my car in winter. Ron tells me the kit is 1.5" lower than the A-Spec kit, so I was wondering how much lower the A-Spec kit is from the base skirts and bumpers. Could someone please tell me. Does anyone have any recommendations as to getting the kit or not while driving in Canadian winters? Please let me know -- we get a lot of snow in Montreal. Thanks!

I look at my TL and a regular TL and they seem to be almost exactly the same height. Just eyeballing it, my A-Spec might be about half an inch lower in front, and quite possibly identical in the back. Not that I'm complaining. Some folks like subtlety, I guess.

I too am considering the basic Teins but i'm not sure how the adjustment works for lowering the car, is it done with spring preload or are they length adjustable???

You can get a slight drop from different tires... yet the 3G has 45s now. On the 2G I got a different set of summer tires that lowered the car about 1/2 inch and I could really feel the difference. For winter I got a set of blizzacks on 16 rims...
Maybe not a drop like you would get with the kit, but this way you get the best of both worlds. And you can drive it in the winter with better traction ..

I'm not actually LOOKING for a drop. I want the least amount of drop possible so that I can still drive my car in winter with the RonJon kit... In any case, I think I have enough information to know that that car will be a bit lower than the A-Spec kit and I'm sure there are people in Canada driving with the A-Spec kit in winter time, so I should be ok.
In winter, I have tires on another set of stock 17" rims... not sure what the measurements are though.
