19 and ballin!

lol but seriously who cares how old someone is or who bought them the car, that does not determine the character of an individual. I know lots of young guys who drive nice cars and they are great people who are ambitious and know what they want in life and work hard at everything they do, even though their parents bought them their cars. And to the guys under 21 paying for all your own shit, even more props to you thats what I did.

got my car when i was 20,I always got dirty looks from older people driving TL's. They give me the"WTF this kid driving this car??"look. So yes some people do hate cause they think us young people dont deserve a car like this.

Hey man, I live in the real world too. As I look back, I too was given multiple gifts/vehicles as rewards for getting good grades and getting into the right University just like the "kid" you are talking about. When you have kids (maybe you already do, I dunno) you will understand that as long as they do well in life you are happy and you will give them your left nutt if that is what will help them succeed. It makes them happy to give. I am blessed with a great family and I have given back regularly.. big screen TVs, new computers, up to and including a brand new car for my parents just a few years ago. What goes around comes around. Just remember to give back when you are able.

Bought mine for my 21st Bday, 08 type S WDP

Parents have bought be beaters and get around cars before but nothing remotely as nice as this. The feeling of achieving it on your own is priceless.

I am 20 now, and bought myself TL last March. I go to school fulltime and have had a job since i was 15. My parents offered to buy me a car, but I wanted to the TL so bad and offered to pay for it. I'm glad i went with the TL. I thank god and my parents for everything. They are trying to get me prepared for the real world.

Paying for the TL and other bills, has helped me to manage my money better, but mods are killing me though lol. I have gotten better about it. I'm always getting the mean look and stares, dont see too many people my age here driving a TL or nice car, but i dont care. Because they dont know life and how hard i have worked to get to where i am today. People and all my friends think i spoiled and i'm far from it. And i just let them think that because people are going to think what they want to think.

19 here, got the car when I was 17.5. Never got any hate really, they knew I deserved it.

-Worked since I was 13
-Family oriented
-Don't drink or smoke
-Graduated with honors
-Broke records in credits and set records for perfect attendance
-highest ranked ROTC member in San Francisco..

list goes on, but in the end I'm still thankful and never take my car for granted.

I turned 21 in August and bought my TL in November. The part that drives me crazy about it though, is that nobody ever believes me when I tell them I pay for it. I always get " no, your parents bought you that." Nope, sorry I work for everything I have.

I'm 17 and will be 18 in June, I drive an 08 Type-S. I made a down payment of 13k with essentially my life savings, my parents take care of the monthly payments and I do it when I can. Yes, I know I'm lucky to drive what I drive, but its not uncommon to see kids driving cars like these where I live.

got my car myself for 21st bday. Never expected anything from my parents and never will. They got me my first tl 99 as a graduation present and I was surprised because I never got a gift from them before. Been an immigrant 3 times since I was 4 years old and in 3 different countries, had to start from nothing every time. So my TL is the nicest thing I have ever owned and I got it all by myself. Most of you guys don't even know how lucky you are that you have such nice parents that will buy you shit like this, so you better kiss their ass and be gratefull.
I dont hate on young ppl that drive nice cars I just hate ungratefull kids driving nice cars

In Vancouver you drop your jaw when you see a rusty old domestic car, because nice, imported cars are all too common.
Elsewhere in Canada your jaw drops when you see a nice car, because rusty old cars are just too common
Toronto is sort of like that. Whenever something nice or uncommon appears its very eye-catching such as my washed, NBP TL

Parents gave me a 2G WDP TL in high school, I sold it when I got to college and put that money as a down payment towards my 3G.

I am paying off the rest.

LOL i suppose you're right. it really is embarrassing through, especially when you have friends that aren't as fortunate...they bash and bash. pisses me off! despite...the whole thing's fairly difficult to balance - we're on acurazine for gosh sakes...it's hard enough to keep up with members *cough cough* that hold back NOTHING when it comes to modding...trying to keep up makes things worse but

None taken, it's simply this. Drinking isn't something that should be done at an early age. Especially because not everyone is mature enough to do it. I agree to some extent that once in awhile during social events are fine, but I still don't drink. Out of multiple groups, I'm one of the only person that does not. Every party I attend, I'm always the DD or watching out for people. It's not easy, with so much peer pressure, but I do it for couple reasons. People looked up to me in ROTC, and I hated the fact that people would say, "everyone drinks, so it's okay." Well, at least they can say I don't, and with that said, a lot of them have followed my path.

Smoking is another thing. If you were a parent that had two kids smoke since the age of 14, and one who didn't wouldn't you be proud? The fact that I stayed drug & alcohol free for 20 years of my life is a pretty big accomplishment imo.
