How many TL owners under the age of 21?
well today in class a few people were talking about there cars. so me being so proud of my TL i decided to hop into the convo lol. long story short, it seems that there is alot of hate for a 19 year old driving such a nice car but im just wondering if how many other people in my age bracket have a tl or type s and are experiencing the same type of response?
p.s.
if you are around my age with a type s i kinda hate you too, but only a little bit lol...jp

19 here sir.
Nothing wrong with that here in Vancouver. Kids have M3s, 3 series, I've seen M5. C-Classes STIs, Evos. Hell I know a 20 year old at school (UBC) has a GT-R. But again, Vancouver is all whacked out like that.
In Vancouver you drop your jaw when you see a rusty old domestic car, because nice, imported cars are all too common.
Elsewhere in Canada your jaw drops when you see a nice car, because rusty old cars are just too common

Im 20.. Ive had it since I was 18. People do hate but what can I do. It just shows how jealous people get bc of what I have. I dont go showing off and speeding, racing, or any of that other kind of kiddy shit so its not like I give them a reason to hate.
And yea, my parents bought me my car. I dont give a shit what people say, I'm lucky that my parents are caring enough and Im fortunate enough to have one. And I appreciate it so its not like Im one of those spoiled careless bastards.
/rant lmao
So, Im under 21 and with a TL. Theres quite a few here under 21 and Ive seen some at meets too. Welcome to the forums :-)

Haha I'm 18 turning 19 I've had my tl since 17, and damn those comments get shot around a lot haha! Just the other day one of my friends, who's fairly older probably 30ish was ranting.. what's up with these young guys driving nice cars?! (Like the whole tl g35 350z 3series etc) its cool to get that attention since I sort of bought my car haha I had a check for a fresh 07 accord(owned for 6 months then totaled) put that check on an 08 tl and paid half of the remainder myself

Stand For Something
I turned 21 when I got my TL-S. People hate, but like others have said, what can ya do? Just be modest and appreciate what you have or is given to you.

18 here.
had the car since I was 17. MY DAD PAID FOR EVERY PENNY.
There are some kids here that are typical spoiled kids, but there are also a lot of younger kids with good heads on their shoulders here on AZ.
I take care of the car, and am grateful for everything my parents have done for me.
I have a friend with an 07 type s, who is 19.
I agree with everything that ifirahse said in his post.

I don't think it's wrong whatsoever for a young person to have a nice car. I didn't have mine handed to me like some have, but I don't look down on them for that. That's awesome that their family can afford to do that for them, especially the way this economy is. People have to realize that people will always have more money than others, and if they choose to purchase a person under 21 a nicer vehicle, let them. It shouldn't affect others. I was on a Mercedes-Benz forum a few weeks back just looking around and a young guy posted "Is it wrong for a 18 year old to get a S63?". A part of me was like fuck no what the hell? But then again, if my parents were wealthy enough and could afford to get me a new S63, I sure would let them, and no matter what your opinons on this matter are, I'm sure a lot of you would gladly accept a brand new $130,000 car, no matter your age. I'm proud that I pay for my car. Yes sometimes it sucks and I somewhat regret it, but I'm happy with my decision and I'm constantly working to pay it off and enjoy it until it dies.

Same with me. I turned 20 last month and I got my 04 TL last summer. My first car was a 2005 Ford F-150 Lariat Supercrew and then I got rid of that for a 2001 Acura CL Type-S. People look at me and think that I'm spoiled and that all of my shit gets paid for, but I've been working since I was 15. I go to school fulltime and I work fulltime. I pay for everything I have...car payments, gas, insurance, cell phone and the bill, food, and clothes. My parents don't charge me for rent but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens sometime soon. My family isn't rolling around in money like some happen to believe. My dad got a new car for the first time in 20 years last year and my mom has a 1997 Dodge Intrepid that's still going strong. People look at me and my car and are quick to judge me and my family, but they are sadly mistaken.

21 now got my 08 TL when I was 20. I graduated college when I was 20 saved my parents a whole year worth of college tuition. Got into dental school when I was 19, the youngest in my class. Parents paid for every penny of the car. Insurance, gas, the works. Then again I have made them so much money in the stock market even when the market is down. Yes I deserve the car. Yes my parents are loaded. I thank god everyday for the family I have and for making me so f***in smart. My parents take pride in the fact that they have the ability to do this for their kids.

ill admit my mom paid for mine. but dont think i didnt work for it. i worked my ass off in school to prove that i deserved such a gift. it was a christmas/going away gift that i got when i got accepted into a music production school out in LA. i kno that i'm very blessed for my family to be able to buy me such lavish things, and i dont take any of it for granted

So u did well in school which your rents were probably kind enough to pay for too im sure, so u doing well with a a gift deserves a 20 thousand dollar gift? At least you know your blessed.

Dont get me wrong im not raggin on you, but kids need to see school as something they need to do well in for their benefit, not for others. Just givin u some insight man, take it or leave it. Again, not trying to be a dick, just trying to give u some insight from a kid who just graduated a few years ago and is living in the real world looking back. Have fun at school tho.

doesnt matter if your car was given to you or you worked it off yourself and paid it yourself ... some people are fortunate enough to have money doesnt have to be a lot but they have money or maybe there parents just want to reward them with something.... and believe me i have no problem with that cause thats the way my cousins are they are given alot of things but honestly i dont see anything wrong with that thats alright i just say you know what good for them im happy for them but since i pay for my car i just realiize how i am ajusting to the real world and just getting ready to buy a house or something i love paying for my car because it gives you a great sense of money and how it should be spent and when to spend it when to not spend it... nothin more then just being proud of yourself... nothing wrong with if you pay for your self or if you are given it just be realize your driving a nice car and thats all that matters never listen to those who try to put you down
