How many aspec owners?

I'm sitting on the fence whether to get the aspec kit. Could I see a list of current owners on this board?

One of my concerns is that I would like a better road feel throught the steering wheel. The current steering feels overy power boosted. Would larger tires, different brand tires change this effect? Or would the suspension be more responsible.

I need to decide to upgrade the tires only, tires and rims, suspension only, or get the whole kit.

Much thanks for the help.

I love the whole kit, Makes you look a little diffrent considering all the TL,s out there A bit over priced but I love it.

Not the same car as the regular one at all. Dealer must warranty everything you are 100% protected. Plus you can finance the cost of the whole thing.

If I had to do it again I would do it 100%

I went to test drive my car because it was a 6MT. When I got to the dealer, I found out it was an a-spec. I test drove it, and immediately fell in love with the tight suspension. They ended up offering me a really sweet deal, so I went for it. Agreed, after choosing the a-spec, other TL's look plain (sorry).

Suspension, wheels, and tires do firm up the steering - but the boost is still on the high side.

If you like the look, get the whole thing. Wheels, tires, and aero pieces comprise most of the cost - no sense not enjoying the whole package.

i would get the aspec kit whenever i get my tl but i would just be wasting money cause i was planning to get comptech springs, rojon rims and kit if it looks nice. if the comptech and rojon didnt have anything for TL i would defently get the aspec.

Just for looks alone you must get it, hands down, w/o the kit the car is just not 100%.

beware of fit issues with the body kit.....i'm speaking from experience with my '04 TL....it seems to be a hit and miss thing....some parts had better adhesive tape than others....the bottom line is i still have gaps after 3 tries and i believe this is unacceptable considering the price of these parts....i think this kit should have been a factory installed option.....maybe improvements were made to the '05 body kit.....i hope so !

Yeah I hear that, I see some parts of the kit is not tottally flush with the rest of the car, a few milimeters of space in some areas.... wonder what I should do?

Well, I guess I am against the majority here.

I have seen and test drove an A-Spec. Was it a little nicer than the regular TL? Yes.

Was it worth 5k? (15% cost of the car without aspec)? HELL NO!!!

This is not like the old "type r" or anything like it. You will get virutally no performance gain. The only real difference is cosmetic.

Personally, I like the way the tl looks with or without the aspec.

Honestly, I wouldn't even do it for $2000. I might honestly start to consider it if the cost was around $1k.

Good luck.

I've been on this forum for a year lurking and sometimes commenting. I just made a deal for a DM/Parchment/6MT/Navi/A-spec with a few other accessories (BSM, Wheel Locks, All Weather mats, Trunk Tray, Moonroof visor) for $40,500 installed including all fees, destination but not tax (I'm registering in a different state). I chose the CHROME 18" wheels and Deck lid spoiler.

I do think the A-spec is high priced. However, I keep cars for 10 years and I really like to get exactly what I want.

If you can afford it, I think it makes a difference in looks and performance/handling.

If you're on a tighter budget, its not worth it.

You can do it aftermarket for less, but I'd rather have it under warrantee from the same place.

Thank you for all the comments.

Can anyone comment on the overly boosted power steering effect. Will the springs or the bigger tires decrease this feeling so that I have more feel of the road via the steering wheel.

I like and dislike the bodykit. The rear body kit doesn't add much to the look of the car. However, I would be willing to get it anyway if the steering is much improved.

By the way, how is the ride? Is it too bumpy? I come from driving an '92 Integra. Sure the Integra is noisy, but it's suspension and all season tires make a comfy ride. Do anyone have any complaints about the performance tires? I've the decided that the springs will nicely stiffen the car and decrease the "floatiness" when going over bumps.

Lastly, I believe the dealer uses some type of body tape to fix the body kit gaps.
Here's the link on this forum if you want to fix the gaps yourself:

Can you purchase parts of the A-SPEC kit now? I thought Acura was not allowing it, or did I miss that post?
