How long do I have to wait now...

I just got my VIN from the dealer (as well as my ownerlink password and username). Now that I have a VIN, where is my car as far as production? Just curious so I know when to expect her!

mortifer,

The factory shuts down Christmas week. However since you have your VIN already, I presume its been built and on its way to you. Just curious, what range is your VIN? Probably close to 20,000 by now.

I'm waiting too...black on black navi....i have a VIN # but no username/password. Twas a hard to find combo, but the rep found one that had been ordered and then cancelled last week. Said i'd get it either this or next week...but with the modd i want to be put on (underbody, decklid lip spoiler, auto start, wood swap for carbon fiber, wood knob, splash guards and a few others), hard to imagine it happnin in the next 3 days.

But when i get it i'll be ecstatic! and after that all i'll need is a GSM Treo 650 to make my day. but til then it's mojitos every day.

So, Mortifier, we'll agonize together. and Kona, my VIN is over 20,000

you can't tell where it is. the VIN you got is "allocated VIN". just sit back and enjoy the anticipation. if you feel the urge, stop buy some other dealers and take a TL for a test drive.

Yes.... VIN numbers are assigned as soon as the body hits the assembly line. Depending on where you live, you could receive the car in as little as 2 days (Ohio) or a few weeks (West Coast). I live in Texas and my car took 5 days to get here by train, a day sitting at the offloading dock and a couple of hours on the transport truck.

I actually drove to the dealership to see if the VIN I had was correct and low and behold, my new baby was already there!!! I dont take posession until Monday (dont want to pay personal property taxes for 04 on it), but I cant wait!! I was able to get the manual from them so I could read it and be ready. They let me take it for a test drive and it was awesome. Only 5 more days!

Congrats on your purchase !!! Your salesman should be able to give you a good idea when it will be delivered to the the lot. Mine did a wonderful job of keeping me informed.

I have the same combo and it was hard to come by but looks SOOOO good. Congrats! It should be a week to 10 days after you get the VIN. You may want to visit the thread on Team Nighthawk, let me know if you are interested in joining. Congrats on the excellent color choice!

I've been waiting for my black on black Navi for about 3 weeks. They assigned the VIN when it completed the assembly procedure, then pulled it back for a quality control issue. Apparently they only pulled NBP cars, so it may be something with the paint. A new black/black shipped a week ago, and still hasn't hit my dealer yet. Wish those transportation people would speed things up, I can't get mine soon enough. To make matters worse, my wife's MDX already arrived, and she has been driving it for almost a week now!

thanks man, i just decided to get the underbody kit yesterday, and was wondering today if the splash gaurds would fit...so i'll make sure they don't charge me for that.

the dealer said the car was sitting in the 'port' in NJ...so i asked him why it was there since they come from Ohio and not from japan...and he said they were trucked there, and then distributed locally from that hub...does that make sense to folks?

and yup 1hottl and alligator, when i get the car i'll join team nighthawk as the Bronx rep.

Splash guards WILL NOT fith the underbody kit.

Yes, they have central locations where the trains dump off their cargo. In the east, most rail line hubs are near most of the sea ports (the closest hub to you I believe is Brunswick). Here in Texas, most are near airports. DFW's major hub is near Alliance Airport (north of Fort Worth).
