Hey, Somewhat strange question, my battery died this morning and I had to get a boost. The battery is old so I'm going to replace it. I'm wondering how easy it is to change the battery out myself / what tools are required. I ask as I'm not much of a mechanic, and my last car had the battery placed under the windshield washer reservoir... I'm stuck at work right now so I can't go out and look for myself so I thought of dropping a post here while I wait. Also what brand of battery is recommended (I'm in Ontario Canada).

2004 Acura TL Auto.

 

Should be pretty easy. Remove the plastic cover and you will either need a 10 or 11 mm socket. Pulls right out.

I use a battery pack connected to the OBD port to keep the system happy and not lose any info.

 

you wont have any problem with the swap
DO make sure you have the radio security code to reset it

if you happen to have a plug in battery to the cigarett lighter that will maintain all settings

clean the cable ends and take the car for electrical testing after an hours driving on new battery- they need to charge fully by driving- then test to know all is well

walmart-costco-whatever battery is good enough unless you live in the extreme cold
Longer warranty does NOT mean better battery
