How does a type s do against a....

WEll the other day this car i think wanted to go... I do know exactly what car it was but it was a continental... Everytime i see these cars their usually black with dark tint windows, 4 doors and have long double exhuast pipes..

The logo had those three slanted lines... so i think it was a continental car.. not sure what model.. Anybody know what im talking about??? It kinda looks like a undercover cop car.. but of course retired... cause a normal person was driving..

Well if it is that type how fast are they? I have a Type S with light wheels and an intake.. How do we measure up..

That's confident, you know much about the Marauder? Apparently not.

As much as I hate mag racing, the specs I find on the Marauder show that it posts very similar 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times to the TL-S. If you do beat it, it won't be by much. Yeah, it's heavy, but it has 302hp and 310tq. If you're stock, it'll be a good race. Should be close. I can't say confidently whether you'd win or lose.

In stock form they are running mid 15's on their forums.

Here's a quote from car and driver:

It huffed through the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91 mph.

91 out of a stock type-s would be sad.

I'd sure like your retraction of me not knowing what I'm talking about.

Thanks.

I love magazine racing.

I don't think a TL-S would have a problem beating a Marauder. You just gotta watch out for a SC'd one.

I think my brother got destroyed by one of those at the track.

That trap is the best Marauder trap I've seen from a mag.

my car and driver quote above was 91.

I've read that those cars are not that fast ...and that the car was a bust for Mercury cause of its lack of performance = lack of sales
... I could of sworn I read in C/D that the car was running to 60 in the low to mid 7 secs...

now they do supercharge that thing at the dealership...then I may call it it a beast

Stock vs stock, my money's on the TL-S. However, the Marauder does respond VERY well to mods.....as is typical of many domestic V8s.

marauders suck!!!!!!!!!! they are slow. I in fact ran with one of the highway yesterday from a roll 50mph to start and blew his friggin doors off, those things are slow as hell. By 90mph I had 2-3 CL's on him and pulled farther away easily. I have a 99 TL BTW, but I am a little faster than a stock TL-S, but still a TL-S would also destroy this Merc POS.

I hate having to quote myself, but as I said - it would be a good race.

15.5@91 is ONE example.

Perhaps you should try holding your breath?

Didn't take me but a minute to scroll through the Marauder forums and find a stock time of 14.82@95 - and if that's not a good race for a TL-S, what is?

If you're going to take the FASTEST stock Marauder time you better not use magazine times for the TL-S.

Yeah the other objective example is 15.4@93.

So when you take objective examples and compare them to objective examples, you see it's not a driver's race.

Now if you're taking subjective times from a message board, as I just said, you can't use objective Tl-S times.

Drivers who have them always seem to be speeding and act cocky..dont know why... but now i guess if one is trying to act like their all that. well.. then...

you know the rest....

ps.. i want headers and pullies..

I think you would absolutely ruin my life if you banned me for a while. In fact I think it would force me to hop on a plane and come hunt each one of you little guys down.

Give me a break, hardly authoritative.

I think you need a new hobby.

Some Marauders have that from the factory. It pushes them over 400 in both HP and TQ.

I personally havent come across too many Marauders on the road but I do get the impression that their drivers are similar in cockiness to the Impala SS (94-96) guys.

I frequently park next to a black Impala SS, he's always trying to race.
