How does this deal sound? 04 TL w/Navi

I've received this quote via email. Any advice? Accessory prices include installation. This is with Navi. My finger is on the trigger....

$33620.00- vehicle price including destination
63.40-wheel locks
113.40-trunk tray
161.00-splash guards
132.60-gold emblem package
195.00-full nosemask
247.00-body side moldings
103.80-door edge trim
$34636.20-total selling price
468.50-dealer documentation fee
6.50-state tire & battery disposal fee
$35111.20-taxable total
2106.67-state sales tax
100.00-tag transfer(you'll get back the difference from the actual tag office amount)
$37319.87-TOTAL

These are your variables:
-My appraiser would have to see your car to put an actual number on it. Sight unseen he is thinking around $4000. I'm pretty sure you can sell it for more. If you traded it at $4000. then your bottom line would be $33079.87. My advice would be to try and sell it privately and/or take it to Car Max between now and arrival time on your new car and then go with which ever works the best for you.
-The longest warranty available is 7 years, 100,000 miles. With $100. deductable that would cost you $1756. plus tax. With $0. deductable it would cost $2091. plus tax.

As to interest rate, we should be able to do the same or perhaps a little better. We can look into that a little closer to time as rates and new programs are constantly changing.

I was quoted $33,075 for 5AT w/Nav in NY. Did you get quotes from other dealers?

What's the $468.50-dealer documentation fee? I was charged $20 for a dealer processing fee, which is an optional fee but isn't authorized by NYS. I would question this amount.

I'm assuming you WANT all those accessories? Or is this something the dealer just has sitting on his showroom floor and now is trying to unload it?

I'm not judging the accessories, I'm just ensuring you want all those tweeks to your TL.

I agree, that documentation fee is crazy.

Thanks y'all. No, the accessories I have picked myself. This car w/navi is not sitting on the lot.

I'm currently trying to get the doc fee dropped and maybe a deck lid thrown in to close the deal. If not, I'll continue to shop around.

Keep the advice/comments coming...

Who's your dealer? There are quite a few in Orlando-Tampa that might match it without the exhorbitant doc fee. It would be worth shopping the deal around.

Angry 468.50-dealer documentation fee???

468.50-dealer documentation fee ??? :bigun2:

What this really means is that your price is $468.50 higher than that first line you listed.

Yeah, and they are holding firm on this so far. So, it looks like $1030 under MSRP.

Of course the darn options add another grand.

Let's see how some other dealers come in.

Any other advice?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

I know you are in Tampa, but give David Kalish a call at Rick Case Acura in Broward County. He is the internet sales manager, and will probably do better on your pricing. His # is 1-800-881-1118, then go through the voice menu which I think is 1 for Acura, then 1 again for sales. They are the number one volume sales leader nationwide for Acura's, and I think you will get a better deal there. If he gives you a price over the phone or internet, you can be sure it is real. Also, ask about the free Sony T-616 that they give away with the TL.

Think of your nice trip home from South Florida to Tampa in your new TL

Good luck, and let us know when you buy one

I've posted this before, but you can get a 7yr/100K Acura Care Extended Warranty with $0 deductible over the internet from Mission Viejo Acura for $1120.

http://acuraofmissionviejo.com/acura-care-quote.asp

Acura Care is the warranty issued by American Honda and is good at all Acura Dealers. Take this info to your dealer and see if he will match it...mine did. If he won't match, buy it from Mission Viejo. Acura Customer Service and the Acura Care people say you can buy it from any Honda or Acura dealer.

Well, looks like I'm gonna end up paying $1,000 under MSRP.

It just happens the dealership already has the car I want on order. Build is early Feb with delivery mid-Feb. Athracite Metallic with Quartz. I'm ordering no extras as I will buy on-line or at dealer and install them myself. I'll also buy the Acura 7/yr, 100,000 w zero ded online for $1,120 instead of the dealer quoted $2,050. Man, what a profit they try to make on these warranties. Dealer cost is only $900.00.

Another dealership wouldn't budge on MSRP and refused to give me their 'best price'. They just wanted to know what other quotes I was getting which I of course would not divulge. They actually wanted me to put down a deposit with MSRP and said we could 'work on the price' closer to delivery.

Yeah right!!!

Once I have the vehicle in hand, I will post the dealership names.

Any other Tampa area buyers out there?

That's a good deal for a $0 deductible warranty, Huskerfan! The link has been bookmarked and I plan to use it.
