How do you replace the driver's door weatherstripping?

I tried searching this topic but I couldn't find anything on how to remove and replace the driver's side door weatherstripping. Has anyone done it themselves? Or has anyone had to pay to have it done and how much did it cost? thanks

I think they the weather stripping is held in by push clips, that just push and pop in. Not positive. But you should be able to pull the edge back and look.

Very easy.... bought it from dealer, comes in one piece with all clips attached. Old one is easily pulled off. All you need is a socket to remove door stop/holder... you'll see what I mean when you take the old one off. Takes 10 to 12 mins. Good Luck!

What about the car side?

Thanks, but I just realized that what I needed was instructions for the car side of the door openning. I took a look at it and it gets really close to the dash. I hope I don't have to remove it. It looks like the rubber just comes off and is pushed back on.

Happened today, looking to order a new gasket/weatherstripping.

The weatherstripping is very soft and easily damaged. I rubbed against it with body weight. Guess I'm getting to fat!

Sucks bro, but the weatherstripping the thread seems to be refering to is the one attached to the doors, and the one that is ripped on your car is the one attached to the car.

Those pics above won't help you, but all you do is peel off the old strip with your fingers, there are no clips.

Mine is torn in that same area, I bought a new one & need to install. No clips to remove, the stripping just simply pulls out & put in the new one.

Is it adhesive or do you need to add anything to make it stick?

no its not adhesive, it s held in by friction of the weatherstrip over the channel.

Yup, just take your time, but you may need a spackle tool to get it in the crevice next to the side of the dash. Be sure to cover the spackle tool with a cloth so you don't scratch anything.

I have the same problem with mine. The part is about $75 from what I found. It seems to just push in and pull out.

I just installed mine, took just a few minutes, but around the side of the dash was the tight spot. I had to use the putty/spackle knife wrapped in a microfiber towel so not to scratch anything, then sprayed a little silicone & used the tip of a flat head screw driver to wedge to the lip of it into position. Just go slowly with it & try it from different angles, but not all dash boards are installed the same & you may have enough clearance to get it in. Tight spot for me was the upper corner of the dash near side section.
