How do you remove the long silver garnish on the passenger side?

As the title states, I'm looking to remove the silver garnish on the passenger side. I am guessing it's just a series of clips much like the other pieces, but I don't want to start ripping away unless I'm 100% on this.

Thanks!

The long silver strip on the passenger side...you know, the silver strip that looks you right in the face if you're sitting in the passenger seat.

Look in the 3G service department. There are a few DIYs which cover disassembling the center console. There is a video as well, somewhere. Look for the thread on comptech short shifter my jmbnova(?).

Basically, use a butter knife with a rag around the blade and pop it out starting at the rear moving toward the windshield. It's all clips. The upper clips on the vertical section pull straight out. Use slow, steady, even pressure when you get to these clips.

with all the friggin modding you have done this is the FIRST time you have gotten at your center console?!?!

THAT is a surprise...happy holidays, bud. Hope all is well, I'm sure it's cold at home...looking forward to a new "unwavering zeal thread".

PS...you are 6MT, if I'm not mistaken...do yourself a favor and go ahead and pick up a comptech short shifter...thought it was a waste...it is awesome...that along with the checkvalve removal on the slave cylinder make this car fun to drive.

Uhhh...we're talking the garnish on the passenger side that runs perpendicular to the passenger.

Uh oh, think we're talking two different strips. I now think you're referring to the strip that runs horizontally on the dash? Don't know about that one. Sorry. (But I'd assume it's just clips as well).

I think that is covered in one of the cracking dashboard threads with scans from the service manual on how to remove the dashboard. Also could be in the Service Department as well....

Funny. I thought Dan was done, too! Can't stop scratching the itch, apparently! Can't wait to see.
Dan--the LED board is 100% now. Just have to wait for a day above 40 degrees to install it!

You mean parallel, not perpendicular.

It would have been a lot more clear if you said the one under the passanger airbag instead!
I was thinking about taking these out and match painting them to match the ext. of the car.

No, I meant perpendicular, unless your passengers lie across the dash while you're driving. Mine don't.

Hell, no, I won't, but that'll never slow me down from my own goals, haha!

When you look at the dash, it is parallel to your eyes

--------------------- < Trim piece

-------- < Driver's eyes

Objects are across from each other, not touching = Parallel.

Perpendicular = T shaped.

Does that diagram look t shaped? LOL

Your confusion, is confusing the other people heheh

Kisses. Burying the hatchet and moving along to actually modding the piece.

I'm not trying to argue, just showing you the right word to use because supposed not only I got confused, but other people did too.

Whatever it is you plan on doing to this trim piece, I'm sure it will turn out sweet like all your interior mods.

Cheers.

Hmmm...I wonder what the heck you're up too with that trim piece...
Looking forward to an update! PS...

you HAVE to do the slave cylinder...it is a free mod that will take all of an hour. MY next mod over the next few days is (since I blacked out the amber diffuser, I have concerns with people not seeing my signal from the side) to make and install those relay/diodes to make the sidemarkers actually blink.

Got the stuff, all of $25 from radio shack...if it looks sucky (since will blink in unison when park light off, and then opposite when on) I'll just remove it.
