HONDA.


Why couldn't they make one that said Acura!

For a sec. I thought I was in my old Accord.

 

you will find honda printed all over the car.... i think only they went above and beyond on the new rl and made sure it only said acura....

 

I was washing my car today and I also noticed honda on the yellow side blinker cover.

My grandfather who is also looking at the TL and RL holds grudges. Telling him this car was american may be the selling point... Dont think he will notice. He was all upset when the president switched his helicopter from the one made by that company in coneticut(sp. and whats that company called it begins with and s?) to Boing which outsources.

Yes. A friend of mine has an IS, my sister in law has an ES and my brother in law has a GS and they have Toyota written on many parts of their cars.

 

Lexus used to have Toyota written all over their cars. But the someone at Lexus finally heard people's complaints. The 2005 LS430 actually says Lexus on the glass, not Toyota. And you make your payments to Lexus, not Toyota. Acura needs to do the same.

 

Why?Honda doesnt sound exspensive enough?

 

My wife has an Infiniti and it has Nissan written on all the engine parts except the engine cover. Even on the windows it reads Nissan.

For an example:The new Bently sedan engine is coming from VW not BMW. Not a $150,000 car with Bently prestige and a cheap VW motor stuffed in it. lol Nawwwwww! I always say it doesn't matter if Honda makes Acura or Toyota makes Lexus ect. as long as the luxury line lives up to the level of excellence that they promise. And latlely some of the more exspensive companies like Mercedes and BMW have not been as reliable as a Honda Accord.

 

As I recall VW's bid was the highest and they almost ended up owning Roll Royce. I think the Rolls people sold Rolls Royce to BWM but the Bently name became property of VW which explains why they are using the W12 engine in the bently.

 

The only reason why I could see the manufacturers not branding the parts with their luxury brand is to keep costs down, but the parts aren't interchangable for the most part. So I'm not sure why they don't brand them for the targetted vehicle?

I HATE BENTLEYS, and now that I know they have VW engines I hate em more. My friends dad has one(he totalled it, smashed it into a cement divider) and its ugly, and no cool technology. As for the Honda being printed places, saying Acura would be cooler, but if it lives up to its luxery expectations and is branded as an Acura I am happy.

 

Maybe everyone should just follow GM's lead. It doesn't say Cadillac, Chevy, Pontiac, etc, on anything except engine cover and trim. It says Safe-Lite on the windows, and AC/Delco on everything else.

 

Are you sure about Lexus payments going to Lexus? Toyota's financial arm, is called Toyota Financial. I don't think they can legally remove that name off the financial paperwork.

FWIW, the dealer has a lot of say, in who does the paperwork anyways. Our acura dealer is owned by a very large toyota dealer, and they said they get better rates through Toyota. So our TL payments actually went to Toyota.

 

Anybody who calls your car an "overpriced Honda" has personal satisfaction issues.

I wouldn't let it bother you.

 

we just bought a Lexus RX330.... I haven't seen Toyota on the vechicle yet... all parts I've looked at thus far say Lexus

 

my sister calls mine an overpriced honda.... guess she is just mad i trumped her new 03 accord with my new 04 tl.... he he he

although she will trump me in the next 2-3 years... she is a pharmacist, just finishing school. she will be making big bucks come 8 months from now.... she is already looking at audi a8's, acura rl (but only if they come out with an aspec), the new infinity m 45, and bmw 7 series....

im gonna be left behind

 

I dated a pharmacist (no not your sister lol)... I do not think they can go toy shopping that quickly without a rather large debt!

The woman I know had a A8 and took brownies with her each time it was serviced. She would get great service at a moderate cost.. I said that one time you do not go in with food you are doomed to get a 1000 tire rotation bill...LOL..

 

she is doing well for herself, her accord is paid off. she is married and her husband has a 2000 f250 which is paid off as well. she is currently living at home with me and my mom so she doesnt pay any rent..... granted once she is all done with school she will have student loans (over 100k worth) but there minimum payback is 1000 a month. so other then that she will have NO DEBT. her husband neil is in school to be an a&p mechanic. she has already signed a contract with cvs and is gaureented a phat paycheck, she even recieved a 10k signing bonus. as soon as she graduates she is buying a house, she has already been approved by our bank for 420,000 once she graduates. the bank manager explained they like to take car of doctors early so they will stay with them for years....

 

then again she has already spent over 8 years in school (9 when all is said and done). i couldnt imagine spending that much time getting a higher edjucation.... although at times i wish i did!!!!

 

My pharm gal did ok as well.. those loans do add up and I am glad several tech companies paid my education...

The toy box aka house when you start to toss out 2K plus a month to buy really digs in the the car budget...... That and if you like other toys or even a vacation...

It you throw in 100K worth of cars you start thinking hmmmm am I crazy!!1

 

My dads friend is a pharmacist. His company was bought by millenium sending his stocks 1000% UP. Livin it up now. The funny thing, is he recomended my dad to invest in the company (not his actual company), not as insider trading. His stocks shot up again, so now I told my dad just to invest in whatever he does. I also know someone whos dad is in milleum and they have a beamer and they dont have there licence yet. Anywho, Those cars she is looking at are pretty nice. The New M looks awsome, rear steering, audi A8 has the w12 option, RL is nice, kinda out of that price range though(cheap compared to seven series, which I would go for). Hav her look into the SL65 too, thats a nice 600HP benz.

 

a very nice 180,000 dollar Benz. she will be making good money. but she wont have disposable income.

the rl checks in at or about 50k aspec might be 5-10k more and thats loaded
A8 L 4.2 quattro starts at 70k with options close to 80k
bmw 745 Li is about the same price as the audi
new infinti m45 will be about 50-55k loaded

these although very very nice cars are still somewhat affordable, rl and m45 just being more so... that uber benz is unattanable except for the super wealthy

 

Just tell her tp lay off havin kids for a little while, we end up costing a fortune.

 

You got to plan for the eventual divorce!!! LOL..

I was in a SL600 that a buddie of mine drives and I took it for a week. Nice car but I was getting women waving and smiling at me and kind of a weird feeling... when youa re doing 75 and some gal pulls up along side you on the highway looks over and then smiles..

I was waiting for her to take her top off or at least flash her digits for me LOL....

 

That's because only the super wealthy would be able to afford the insurance on a car like that.
And if you're talking an under age 25 driver, expect a 5 figure premium.
