Question High Beams

Anyone have a clue how the highbeams function ??

My guesses are that there is some iris or shade or something that moves to provide greater distance for the HighBeams. Certainly you cannot fire up another HID that quickly. Also there is a noticable click in the front end when you hit the HighBeams as well, thinking something is mechanical.

Just a thought....

That is typically how bi-xenon lights work. The HID is shuttered in low beam mode and the shutter is moved when switched to high beam. That is how the Audis and BMWs I know of work at least.

Why is it in the shop? what is the last 4 dgits of your vin, a round number works (500, 1200, 1400)

Just wondering, as I have one in the 1600's

I do have a few minor fit/finish issues that I expected with a brand new model, so just wondering.

it's in the shop cuz the check engine light keeps coming on. Read my other thread about "first week issues"

I've about had it with this car.
