Hey all, new to the forum and possibly considering the new 04 TL. The deciding factor a couple of years ago between the 02 TLS and my 02 Maxima SE was the lack of a manual tranny on the Acura. So happy that Acura has finally came through with a 6 spd! Great time reading through all the info on the 3rd gen TL!!

 

have u driven the acura yet? if u have, how would u compare the acceleration to the maxima?

 

No I have not drove the 04 TL, very anxious to do so.......sounds like I may have to wait a few weeks to find a 6MT to test though I expect the Acura to be slower off the line than my Max however I am sure the Acura will own the Nissan on top end.

 

I have driven both the '04 Acura and the '04Maxima. I think the Maxima has better accelerationm but when your in the ACURA, you feel the power and you also feel in control. Thats how I felt at least. PLs the acura's engine sounds better.

 

I was all set to order a 6MT after 20 years of rowing my own Hondas (and a less than impressive test drive of an 03 TL-S auto). Then test drove the new auto and am sold. It was so smooth in comparision to the 03. Enjoy your 6MT.

 

And I had the exact opposite feeling about acceleration when I drove 04'Maxima vs. 04'TL - TL is so much better. And Nissan is screwing their interior even more every year...

 

Yeah, the interior of the Nissan looks like cr@p, especialy there digital display,its so ugly and not well designed.
