Angry HID's are pissing me off!!

I lost a factory ballast and 1 igniter so I decided to buy a "kit" from HID Autovision. I opted for the 35W Canbus kit. I had already purchased D2S bulbs from them twice in the past 5 years. When I got their kit, I tried to use the bulbs I already had. They would not fit in the plugs. So I used the D2S's that came in their kit. One month later and I lost a bulb. Two months went by and I lost the other bulb. So I got them to send me a new set of D2S bulbs. Imagine my surprise when I tore the car apart and couldn't get the bulbs out of the sockets! They had melted together. This past December they sent me new plugs and I once again dis-assembled the front of the car. I purchased new plastic clips and the correct pliers to remove them(Much Easier to remove). I put it all back together January 9 & 10th. I added some other lights as well, so I took my time. On the way home from work Tonight one of my lights went out again. I got home and pulled out the bulb and the socket was once again melted to the bulb. I assembled these while the front end was apart. The bulbs were in the correct place and orientation, the socket was seated firmly on the bulb, the pins locking them together were clearly visible in their respective seats. And not even 1 week and it melted. I give up.......Does anybody make an LED or a halogen bulb that will fit in place of these POS D2S's? I just want 2 headlights for more than 1 week!! I will fix whatever wiring configuration I need to make it happen. HELP!

Nice fog lights.

Do you live in the clouds or take your TL off road much?

I would just find OEM components if I were you.

I like your light setup btw.

You bought shitty HID parts and wonder why they melted into the projector...

Stick WITH OEM For the 3G or get a quality aftermarket one from TheRetrofitSource.

I may have a set of OEM HID ballast/bulbs for sale in the near future...

Buy OEMs. Check the black market, ebay, amazon for some use ones or buy new from the dealer or vendors. Get better bulbs from the retro source.

Isn't there a law about having more than three forward facing lights ( or maybe sets of lights ? ) on cars?

LoL wow you just made our TL look like shit ... Thanks !

Just kidding i know I would be pissed as well. I would prefer to get oem stuff and quit massing around with after market when it comes to lights.
As for fog lights I got led's and for day time, i have leds, other than that, the rest is oem.

I was thinking of replacing oem light bulbs with like 5K well i guess i'm glad I didn't... I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

How does one go about pulling power from the "driving light" power and the projector cut-off power circuit to signal relays to turn on? I have power on these circuits when they are off. Help again!

Can you explain that part a little better?

You want your custom lights to turn on when the low beams are on, and turn off when the low beams are off?

Never mind..........I am a dumbass! Ever since I rigged up the battery out of my Chevelle to use in my Acura, the red battery terminal cover has been gone. I hooked up my test light to the positive terminal and was getting the opposite readings I was expecting......Live and continue to learn at 52yrs old! Hard to believe I was a car stereo and stereo system installer in the '80's!

I was looking for a place to pull power from to trigger the relays without adding aftermarket switches in the car. I got it going now.

There are laws about the brightness of forward facing lights...I had driving lights on a car back in the day and got a ticket because they were too bright.

Why does one complain about cheap made in China bulbs and not spend more to save the trouble? You are lucky that the harnesses aren't melting.

I remember buying a foglight kit for my 07 Accord years ago and put them on. They wouldn't light up no matter what I did. Finally I tracked the problem to the cheap made in China bulbs. I've been using Philips bulbs since.

I cut, drilled, and fit the aluminum and took everything apart myself, had 2, 1/2x13 nuts welded inside the square beam behind the plastic front nose to bolt the aluminum angle to. They are all on relays and heavy gauge wire.

Sorry man, but I thought this thread and picture was a troll post.

If you live in an area that requires that type of lighting, I wouldn't expect your vehicle to be a TL.

Maybe something along the lines of a tank, or a 6X6X6 Safari vehicle

I live out in deer country. I want to see them before they see me. I have already hit 3 of them in my other cars in the past. Besides the factory HID setup has too great of a cutoff and as you know there is not a horizontal adjustment to put the beams in front of the car. So I solved my problem!

I choose to live away from big cities. I have become unsociable in my later years. I live in the middle of nowhere. We only have 265 registered voters in our town!
