Question HID wiring harness, one question...

I know where everything goes and clips in, except for one end. I have a few extra wires, but not sure if I need them. Two came with the kit, and one came with an ignitor I bought. Since I bought the HID kit and relay wiring harness from different sellers, I assume I don't need the extras.

Hopefully this picture will help you see what I'm talking about:

That's the trigger. Need to connect that to one of your stock foglight OEM plug. The other side (foglight) you can just leave disconnected. Its using it as a trigger to signal to power up (when you flip the switch from inside) the HID's drawing current from the battery if that makes sense to you.

And on the other stuff you circled.. you're right you don't need that and can discard that.

I ended up buying Xentec ones off ebay, because they were half the price, and I got a relay harness for $5 less from another seller. The DDM relay was $15, and shipping was $16, and the kit was like $55.

I figured since I'm buying a cheap aftermarket, may as well try a cheaper one with good feedback.

Hope your xentec ballast work fine. Mine barely worked, one melted after a few hours of use. They sent me replacements but I never installed them. Don't trust them.

^gonna jack the thread for a second here...

for the HID fog light kits, do you HAVE to use a relay harness with them? or can you get away with not using one?

Exactly. Learned this over time. Everyone has to go through it. Only aftermarket in my car right now are the DDM ballasts and I only trust them for the reverse lights. My fogs are being powered by Lexus OEM ballasts now. Haven't had a problem with my fogs for over 1 year now.

Don't have to but its recommended for safety and reliability on any HID kit. All due to the inital current draw on startup being 5x to 10x higher than what those small wires in the can provide the ballasts.

^thanks...guess that might explain why both of mine suddenly crapped out at the same time.

when you buy the HID kit from ddmtuning, they don't include the harness right? it's a separate charge?
