Hey guys,

I have a 04 TL and was told by the dealership that any D2S bulb would work as both my HIDS are now on the way out and must be replaced. But I read in a post on here that it must be a D2S 60404 sized bulb. I thought any D2S would fit. Am I misinformed?

Cuz I can't find any D2S 60404 bulbs on the net at all...

The "60404" just a model number, specific to the manufacturer (Osram I believe). It doesn't have anything to do with the size/style of the bulb. As long as it is a D2S bulb, you're good to go.
