that's probably your answer.

i got 5000k hid's for my fogs from ddmtuning and they are insanely brighter than the OEM bulbs. i think they were maybe $40? lifetime warranty as well.

I will always buy my HID kits from DDMTuning, i have always had the Ebay kits and if it were 12 years ago i would tell you they were awesome but lately the kits i have gotten from eBay are crap! The light has a flicker all the time! Drove me nuts. Trashed them and went with DDM kits.

I've gone with HIDXtra and all the headlight bulbs (D2S) I've gotten from them have all flickered when installed.

I have a set of ebay 3000K for fogs in the wife's TSX, 6000K in my fogs, and just bought a 4300K bixenon kit for my 01 Cobra headlights. No flickering, no issues, and I purchased from 2 different ebay sellers. One thing I would recommend is purchasing the relay harness, because these will "help" with the flickering issues.

You cannot beat ddm tuning's warranty, but I'll probably just buy another set of Ebay hid kits for the fogs for my Cobra. I heard ddm tuning is on the slow side when it comes to shipping. To each his own, but I'm pleased with my Ebay hid kits.

Oh another thing to consider OP, is that our factory D2S bulbs are rated at 4300K where you said you replaced them with 6000K. The Kelvin temperature make a huge difference when it comes to lumens (light output).

6K lights will give you less light output than the factory 4300K bulbs. Cheaper bulbs of even poorer quality will fit loosely, give out less light and run hotter risking damage to the projector.

The best thing to do is stick with a reputable brand like Philips and OSRAM.

Philips makes a few bulbs that may work:

Philips 85122 UB - appears to oncomming traffic as 6K, but puts a 4300K light on the road without sacrificing light output.

Philips 85122 WX (aka Ultinon) - 6000K bulb that gets bluer after a few hours of usage, it gives out 2400 lumens versus the factory bulb of ~3200 lumens.

If you want good light output and can sacrifice a little color, the OSRAM CBI's fit the bill. They are 5000K and output around 3400 Lumens of light.

DDM Tuning is having problems lately. I'd avoid ordering from them till they get mass shipments in. Check there FB page and see the chaos.

I need 9005 bulbs for my DRL for my 06. (have type s lights)

Anyone recommend a good site? I bought my old 6k bulbs from HIDextra, a vendor here
on AZ, but there original owner or rep doesn't work for them anymore and it seems, according to the thread, that they aren't reliable anymore :/ my 6k HIDs are strong after a year and a half
