HID problem: Flicker/Shutting Off
I have Xetronic D2C in my HID...
For the past few weeks, my driver side HID when I start driving after it sat cold for a few hours, it flickers, and if I leave it on as it flickers, eventually it will turn off. I have to turn off my headlights, wait 5 secs, and turn them back on, and then everything is fine. The bulb also goes out if I gun the car.
What I did to remedy: I took the bulbs out, cleaned them with alcohol, cleaned the connectors too, made sure everything is tight and locked when I put it back. This solved the problem for about 2 weeks, now it's back.
Today, actually a weird thing happen, my passenger side HID just turned off twice on me, it does not flicker, just turns off, when I gun the car.. The driver's side in the mean time worked like a champ. Very Weird... The passenger's side bulb had no problem. I ordered yesterday a new bulb to replace the one on my driver's side, and now I'm confused...and irritated.
Could it be the V-LED DRLs? Could it be the honda battery? Could it be the AEM kicking? The hoen endurance fog bulbs?
From what I understand, when the bulb overheats in the connector, the HID power shuts down for safety reasons.. So I'm hoping very much it is just the bulb.
Please suggest..

Mine just did this recently too, it would fire up for about 3-5 min then just shut off.(no flickering though) Now it won't go on at all. I thought it was the bulb but when I switched I still got nada. I'm thinking the ballast or igniter is shot. Is this covered under warranty? will Acura void you if you cleared your headlight's?
It's none of the above what people said. I actually ran the same Xetronic Bulbs they did the same thing. If you look very closely at the bulbs you will notice some cloudy type shit at the top of the inside of the bulb. It's not the ballasts, ignition, wires, etc. I plugged in my stock 4300 bulbs and no longer have that flicker problem or problem with them going on and off. It's the bulbs bro honestly they are shitty bulbs not as great as I thought.

I understand that. But I experienced the same problems he is having. Just stating that when I switched my stock bulbs back in everything worked fine. Since him and I ran the same bulbs the chances are its the same problem. Hence why I told him to remove the bulbs and look at the tip of the inside bulbs to see if their was a cloudy condensation meaning same issue I had...

Ahhh gotcha. Hmmm very disappointed with the Xetronic bulbs. Thought they were supposed to be awesome bulbs. They were while they lasted. Just going to end of getting some Kaixen's this time around.
Jay, yes, I do have that cloud, I've noticed it...
Xetronic bulbs, they work perfect for one year, the moment the warranty expires, they are shot... A effen conspiracy I tell you
I love Xetronic for their bluish white and the nice spread of light.... Kaixen, I don't like. I guess it's either stock or I'm going with Philips..
I have a bunch of D2R bulbs, all brands, including Ultinon, so I guess I should see if anyone is willing to trade, or just sell them on BB.
I just wish I havent ordered a replacement bulb from Xetronic.. I'm a dumbass!
