HID KIT Question

whadup everyone, i searched and could not find anything on this..

I have 05TL, just ordered the accord fog kit, need to get HID kit for it. My questions:

1. Wattage - 35 or 55? will the 55 melt the lens on the fog or that does not matter and only based on he temp of the bulb?

2.Bulb Type - is H11 the correct size?

3.HID Harness - anything specific i need to get dual/ notdual?

4.Adapter cables - any extra ones needed for our cars?

5. Relay harness - will i need to get these as well or our cars do not require it?

6.Any sugestion on the switch, were to by what to connect to.

Your help is appreciated!!!!

35 watt. 55 watt runs the problem of melting the housings or burning the chrome.

People have hooked them up without a wire harness but I'd make one just to be one the safe side so you don't burn up the stock harness.

Bulb size. H11? Is that why your manual says? Then yes.

I'd recommend doing this the right way and retrofitting in projectors otherwise you'll have glare city. I don't care what other say "I dont glare anyone, they're aimed low" light still scatters and is annoying.

Dude thanks a bunch!!
-The part number is 08V31-SDA-101, i just called Honda they confirmed bulb size H11..( so if the bulb size in the fog is H11, thats what im getting in HID kit so they match?)
-The harness i never did it my self ...is there something i can look at some manual or link or just buy the thing?
-Well monies r tight so ill stick with reg for now..but let me ask you if i was to smoke/tint half the lens would that just scater the light on the ground with out any kind of blinding effect?

Nope. Those lenses are not designed to handle the increased output from the HID bulbs. Plus, the bulb's origin of light is probably in a different location within the housing.

As far a harness goes, I always have my retrofitter make me one since I'm not very good with wiring.

This one should work with your HID kit. Just google H11 HID relay harness.

1) 35 W
2) H11 is correct. 9006 is the same as H11
3 & 5) Always install a relay harness when adding HIDs. Better safe than sorry.
4) No adapters needed, depending on which kit you order.
6) Switch should be included in the Accord fogs kit.
I use ddmtuning.com for my HID needs. Their Raptor kits are cheap and work well. The Slim Ballast kits are nice, too.

To counter those that do it...
I think fogs add a function of illuminating more and add to the headlight output if done conservatively i.e. 6K and below. Def my next mod. Nice thread OP, info is of great help!

hahah good point, but the light from reg lights and fogs is different, its on a different level - so when im in traffic and a truck or a sedan is shining their shit into my rv mirror is not the same as a car behind me with fogs..u see what im saying.

And also i guess its the price factor...spending another 100 on projectors is not some thing I personally want to do.

Oncoming traffic will still be pissed at you for the amount of glare coming from your fogs though

DDM 35 watt Slim ballast. 5000K H1 bulbs on a harness. I just bought some 3000K bulbs to switch things up a bit.
