HID KIT Installation

Hey guys,

I have a 2004 Acura TL, and im thinking about changing the headlights to 8000K. Instead of buying the whole kit can I just buy the 8000K bulb and use the stock ballast with it, will there be any problems?

Im thinking of doing the same thing with the fog lights..

Thanks for your help

For the HID bulbs yes you can just replace the bulbs for some 8000k hid bulbs. For those bulbs what you are looking for are a d2s or a d2c bulb. For your foglights you can purchase a hid kit and have hids in your fogs plenty of members have done it on here and it looks great. And yes you can use your stock ballasts with the new hid bulbs and no you won't have any problems at all if the bulbs are installed correctly.

That's exactly what I have done. I have 8000K bulbs both in the headlights and fogs for awhile now. They are not exactly the expensive ones either and they have been running fine.

http://www.shopxenon.com/ is just one of many out there.

9005 is the fog light number. I recomend staying around 6000-8000 Kelvin range for the best color and light outputs. 5000 will give you more output but will start to have a yellowish tint to it. If you want your fogs to work well in a bad weather situation you will need to go to a lower kelvin number like around 3000 to 5000. It will give you a yellow tint but you will be able to see through fog a lot better. If not then go with what i suggest. i doubt you would want to go to a purpleish look which is in the 10000 to 12000 ranges.

just a correction, fogs for an 04-06 are 9006, not 9005.
