So from what I read, I got really confused cuz I'm an idiot when it comes to electricity shit.
What do I have to do to install a set of HID fogs? I can't just get the HID kit and install it, right?

yea not a prob u can do it. brighter you cant get any brighter than stock 4300k because white's the brightest color in the universe. as for bluer I like Philips or GE 6000k and GE 8000k all the other colors are too artificial looking for me.

Hey, I work in Mukilteo. Anyways, to answer your question. For a 2005 TL, you need a 9006 HID kit and a relay harness like others mentioned. I'd honestly stick with 4300k bulbs though. They'll match the stock HID's better and offers the most light output to the road. They will not melt your housing.

They are not blinding either to oncoming traffic. I've never been flashed. They light up the road like it's daytime. Probably the best mods you can do if you want to see better at night.

As for the 3000K setup I like it to an extent.....I personally dont think it meshes well with the TL but to all their own.
I dont have any problems on mine. put a higher capacity fuse and thats about it.

I just installed 6000k fogs on my 2008 TL type S. 6000k is perfect match with my stock headlights. I got my kit at xenonspecs.com They have 3000k available also, I was thinking of switching it later. does anyone have the 3000k on their fogs?

but you see thats what it is with the fuses people think u can just upgrade the fuse without the line.....to an extent yes you can but I wouldnt do it on a stock harness with the risk of shorting the wire. Ive seen it happen on a brand spanking new type s...... blew out the whole electrical lighting harness. no tails no parking no fogs no top brake light. My friend works at acura and he called me to come help him fix an electrical mess I thought he disconnected some aftermarket stuff and couldnt figure out the wiring to get it back to normal..... it took 9 hours of tedious testing n rewiring to get this guys shit back to normal working condition. Its just my preference to keep the stock away from the aftermarket harness only because you dont run the risk of voiding warranty... and you can pinpoint errors in wiring or defect in workmanship. the dude paid for the 9 hours it took to rewire btw.
TSXmaya, 04wdpsedan has his in 3000k it looks good, yellow is not my color but it def looks good i cant say it doesnt.

Word...

It's $20 for the harness to potentially save time/money in the long term. Aftermarket HID kits are cheaply made and who knows what it is capably of ruining.

As for 3000k, those would look sick on a 2007 TL with the foglights in the bumper IMO. Probably wouldnt look so hot in the headlight unit itself next to the HID's. They will also work well in rain, but I opted away from them for 4300k because I didnt feel like looking at a yellow road all the time.

same way i felt the odd colors that move away from white or crystal bluish whitish makes your eyes strain at night to see the light so you get tired quicker...ill stick to 6000 n 4300

All of you guys are saying that the 07 TL uses an H8 bulb, but yet the (my) owners manual says H4. I bought Hyper yellow H4 bulbs off of e bay and when I went to put them in, found out that I had H8 on my car.
Why would Acura put the wrong part # in the manual? And how do I get rid of these bulbs? It is not the sellers fault I ordered the wrong part.

Just venting.....sorry.

I just put them on my 08 TL-S. I think the H7 were for the headlights and the H11's were for the foglights. There we no modifications needed! If you would like I can post pictures.

08's take H11's?? Post pics please...

My 07 TLS has H8's and I know for a fact H11's won't fit because I had tried them already... Anyway, I would love to see NBO hid kit on the TLS.

Order your kit here www.xenonspecs.com they carry the o-nex brand. Make sure you order H11 bulb size for your fogs, H8 and H11 are the same size. I got the slim ballast and ordered a set of relay. I had tried the regular ballast kit and they flicker. Everything was plug and play. I spoke to one of the sales rep and they had just came out with a resistor box that connects with the slim ballast, therefore relay is not needed. Very easy to install everything was plug and play. I didn't have to remove my bumper. I installed them on my 2008 TL type S fogs.

Can you post pics please?? I'd like to see the product in action... As for the correct bulb size...the H8's and H11's do look identical at a glance, but the fits are different from my experience; it could very well be different for HID's...not sure.

NO...

Headlights require just replacement of the BULBS - (D2S or D2C)

Fogs are H8 Bulb type which you'll need a whole HID conversion kit Ballasts w/ignitors and Bulbs...

Good Luck

Thumbs up ehh...

I forgot the bulb type, all I know is you do need relay's. I guess the low wattage the fogs use trips the computer into thinking a fog is out. Iono...here's a crappy pic of my fogs 4000k i believe piss yellow. I'm still debating whether I should get a light yellow film applied over it.

Word...as discussed in other threads. Spend the $20 and get the relay harness to avoid issues. It appears the chances of HID's firing up on the stock wiring is 50/50.

The yellow looks kind of cool. That looks more like 2700k to me though. I don't know if I could get used to that though, but I bet it's nice in the rain. The cutoff on the 07-08 bumper fogs is way lower it seems like compared to the 04-06 integrated in the headlights. My 05 HID fogs go about 1/2 - 2/3's the distance of my low beams but spreads super wide into the lanes next to me. I think it can be distracting as my eyes always look at the bright light (4300k) in front of me instead of the road far ahead. Anyone else have that problem? The white line on the side of the highway is super bright as well and so is the terrain off the side of the highway.

Msala524,

That's HOT!!!!!!!!! So where do YOU park at night? lol

Thank you for the pics! IF you will be able to, can you take the picture of the beam, against a wall, and also a pic to see how far/wide the beam stretches? Thanks!

PS Info on the kit and hopefully a DIY.
