HID DRL's????

is it possible to upgrade the drl's with an HID kit? if so what would be needed to reduce their intensity as to not blind people? DRL module? I have the v-leds LED bulbs now but they've been acting up lately- seem to have a mind of their own..getting tired of taking it back to the shop constantly for it.

You can not make HID's dimmer. They are a Gas filled capsule and the electricity arcs across two electrodes. I have yellow halogen 9005's in my drls and really like the look maybe it would be a better route for you ?

^^That is correct---HIDs do not make good DRLs.
I use the 9006 Nokya Yellow halogens in mine. I have an 06, so they are also my stock fogs. I am using the Designtech DRL module for DRL functionality.

why not just get some white led's? you'd probably need some type of resistor to trick the computer but it'll have that nice hid look...drl's aren't really practical anyway right?

I read a few threads about the Nokya Stage 2 bulbs that are 75+ watts. What do you all think about these high wattage bulb as a DRL? The reason I ask is because I am interested in a couple different colors but I think the Stage 2 would have a more prominent color than the lower wattage Stage 1 bulbs? Not a practical use of course, but just something a little different.

Stage 1 is fine.
No need to risk your vehicle in damage by going with stage two that has 75 what versus stage 1 with 55 [or 35 watts, what ever it is].
The 55watt yellow bulbs are just as bright and yellow as a 77watt. It's for DRL use anyway... no need to go all crazy.

And HIDs in DRLs is a bad idea [unless you have a projector in there]. Please do not do it.

Just get a new halogen bulb in a different color and call it a day.

I have the V-LEDs LED's in there now. I love the look but I've had issues with them the past few months. they dont always go on, go off while driving, flicker from time to time, etc. just get tired of dealing with them.
