HID bulb question
Ok so I was doing some research and see that the 07' TLS main bulb size is the D2S. I just ordered a set of HID's and on the order it says D2S but I got a set of D2C bulbs. I called and they said it was the same thing.....is this true? Do i need to send these back?
It's easiest to do it that way. Otherwise you can pull back the wheel well liner and try to do it that way but you need small hand to do that, especially that drivers side.
This is what a D2S bulb base looks like.

Send them back. the D4C means colored this is not the route i would recommend at all. this is aftermarket companies trying to sell bulbs. Color temperature can vary.
Color temperature can drastically decrease light output. Not to mention alot of aftermarket products are made with poor quality control. The poor quality of the product cannot only affect the output it can also severely damage your headlight housing. the incorrect build of alot of aftermarket bulbs has also damaged headlight housings.
These damages are caused by heat. Poor design and lack of R&D of these bulbs give them improper placement (as in bulb rotated or mounting depth incorrect) Not to mention the Elements used to create reaction to produce light is something that must me monitored closely.
The reason heat damages the projectors. If you open up your headlights and take the projector assembly apart you will see that there is a chrome plated reflector bowl. the heat can cause this to fade, flake and dull the area. this can create dark spots/shadowing look to parts of your beam pattern. This is why you should stick to a quality product such as Osram, Philips, Hella ECT.
you need a D2S bulb. and make sure it is a D2S since you have a projector. take a visit to http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=27. Matt is a very good reliable guy and will help with what you need i would highly recommend Phillips 85122+

According to your diagram above the D2C justlooks like it has an extra open groove on it VS the D2S. It looks as though the D2C would fit right? Like I said before, the company AAC said they were the same and wouldn't be a problem.
D2C bulbs are HID bulbs meant for housings without projectors. They have the back half of the bulb painted black to help stop glare. When you put them in a projector housing meant for D2S, they will fit, however their light output will be a bit less than your D2S bulbs even if they are the same color.
If you want new bulbs in factory color, the Philips 85122+ are the way to go! If you want 5000K, the OSRAM CBI's are the way to go!
