Help Wanted

About a month ago I bought from the Insurance option a 2004 TL. It wass a theft recovery. The car was stripted, seats removed, dash, doors etc.
Now I'm in the process of getting it back together, and got most of the parts, inckuding navigation system. But I have a small problem because I do not know if the car came with it or not. I call a dealership in CA but the guy I talked to at the parts department was not much help even with the VIN.
Anybody have a suggestion.
Thank you all

What's the 8th digit in your VIN?

I think the navi information only applies to the RL. It's kind of hard to figure out, but since the RL only comes with AT, the 6 shows that it is a 48 states model with navi and XM radio, and the 2 shows it is an Alaska model without navi and XM and the 3 shows the RL is a Hawaii model without XM.

There would be only 2 different digits applicable to the TL: 2 for AT and 6 for MT. This is for 2005 models, because in 2004, a 5 meant MT and a 6 meant AT, bass ackwards so maybe that's why they changed for 2005.

Not sure why it matters if it originally had a navi unit...you have one, if you want it on the car, put it in.

jmbnova is correct. Your car had no navigation. But you could put one in.

You right. What I end up doing was to try to plug it, and fine out that it did not came with it. Now I have to decide to if I should since the car was strip do find the harness and replace it or put it on ebay and get my money back. If I decide to sale it, I would put a link in this forum.
Thanx you everybody for your help.
