Help Plz, how to remove projector lens?

Hi, been reading many many threads regarding the clearing headlights from JNC, Brian, along with a lot of other members as well. Anyway decided to just attempt it myself. Ive currently got headlights open already and painted the chrome housing with flat black paint and awaiting some parts (Phillips 85122+ bulbs, ZKW rep, Umniza CFL's). My questions is...

1. How do you remove the lens from the projector? I dont plan on removing the projector from the housing as I dont need to paint anything on it. It seems the chrome ring shield that holds the projector lens in place is just held in from the front with tabs on the top you just seem to pry off. The picture i have is the headlights upside down, The "Honda" print would be the bottom of the headlight, the part i have circled would be the top of the headlight which i believe is the side you just pry off with maybe two small flatheads.

2. I have the Nissan Butyl sealant which i plan on using. my question is...
a. Should i try to remove as much of the old sealant (which is almost impossible) and than put the nissan sealant in the groove of the headlight side?
b. Should i just leave the old sealant and apply the nissan sealant as extra (since the sealants will both melt when heating up anyway)?
c. When applying the nissan sealant, should i just put it on the headlight groove side or also on the headlight lens side as well?

Hope that made sense, any help is greatly appreciated. If that picture doesnt show up heres the link. Thanks for your time for looking.

when i did the zkw swap and all the other stuff... i left the old sealant on as i reused it without using any new sealant and havent had any problems with moisture or water. I just put the housing back in the oven and allowed it to get tacky and then pulled it out and pressed it firmly and using clamps. I got the front lens off by pressing really firm on the tab at the top and barely prying with a flat head screw driver and then it just pretty much pops off. hope this helps!
