Hey everyone I hope this is posted in the right section (sorry if it's not) but any help would really be amazing!
I have a 2008 base 3.2 TL and noticed my 3rd and 4th gears were rough and would hold the rpm's a little longer before shifting. I changed the two 4th gear (white) pressure switches first because they arrived first and that fixed the 4th/5th issue however my 3rd gear was the one that bothered me the most. Finally got the 3rd gear black switch in and swapped it out but I am still having the same problem with my 3rd gear. Parts are OEM from the Acura dealership so I know its not a cheap aftermarket part issue. After doing an ECU reset (5 seconds then 2 min wait), the car accelerates so much better but the 3rd gear is still holding and the downshift is better but still rough.
I do have a few codes but no check engine light or vsa issues etc.
Current Fault Log ------------------ C1555: Unknown
P0108: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input P2122: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch D Circuit Low Input P2127: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch E Circuit Low Input
Not sure if these have anything to do with my shifting issues, not sure if the APP sensor, MAP or Throttle body sensors
Hoping someone whos experienced this could help out, my next plan is to try a 3x3 ATF drain and fill.
Did you change your tranny fluid 3x3? It the fluid at a perfect level?
Also, the third gear on our cars shifts a bit harder than the others. This is just part of its natural behavior, so a little bit of buck I’m 3rd is expected.
Those are MAP and TPS codes. Did you mess with the throttle area? I had that MAP sensor code because the trans rebuild shop had started the car with it unplugged at some point. If you do plug it back in, you need to clear the codes.
Regarding the trans, what was the last time you changed the trans fluid? Pressure switch change isn't a magic fix.
