Smile HELP Needed Man pages for knock sensor

If anyone has the manual I'd appreciate the knock sensor removal testing and replacement procedures. I wonder if there is a mention of it in the wiring manual as well.

I am hoping to shed some light on the knocking and throttle lag issues.

Thanks

From people that had had their wiring replaced due to rodent activity, I know that it's like 3-4 hours of labor from Acura so I am sure there is a fair amount of work involved... I'm sure someone will be able to "hook a brutha up" if they have those instructions...

Thanks for the scans.

I can see that these two sensors must be related but what else in the system would effect knocking. I'm using 91 or 94 octane and still get knocks.

The testing procedures are all computerized and require the scanning and diagnostic tools available at the dealer. Many things can cause the knock, such as other sensors not working right, a blockage somewhere, etc.

If your MIL light hasn't come on, it may not set a code, but they should still be able to test various things. The knock is not normal and should not be allowed to continue, because damage to the engine will almost certainly occur.

What exactly is a knock sensor(I know what it does). Is it a microphone?
