Question Help me with V1 Concealed display!! =)

Hey guys, so today I finally got to hardwire my V1 and i was wondering,

Where should I put the concealed display?

So if you guys can, can ya please share a picture of where your concealed display is?

I've seen couple pictures around the fourmn and KENNEDY had the best placement imo, Link below.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=552627&page=4

But it looks really difficult to drill a hole thru there without not hurting anything (cuz i dont know whats behind that thing)

So please help me out by sharing your pictures and opinions!! =)

And for those who hasn't hardwired their V1 yet, I've used these links:

http://kadakia.com/2008/02/06/valent...07-acura-tl-s/

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/v1-install-552627/

First one is Kennedys setup
Second one is random one i found
Third is TeknoKings setup

I've got mine in the same spot as kennedy, not a V1 though, want to get one of those soon. Next to the cigarette lighter is the best spot imo, because if you do happen to get pulled over, you can just close it and the cop won't see it, where as if its out in the open, it might make the cop a little pissed and more vulnerable to ticket you. and it just looks a lot cleaner.

I believe the whole point is to able to see the display without taking your eyes off the road... No one notices my display in the corner besides me....

But I guess it's looks vs function.

What about using double sided tape? You wont have to drill and worry about messing it up..

Where Kennedy has it is the best place IMO. It's easy to do a clean flush install there and the slot is just the right size and the door can close on it when you are parked to hide it. Who uses that cubby anyways? I wanted to use that space for many mods in the past but I kept it reserved for the future. I always kept in mind to get a V1 soon. I didn't get a ticket since 2003, I am pretty careful. Just got a HUGE ticket last month and the trooper was not so nice so I am comitted to definitely get one now!!!

Don't blindly drill into that space. You might poke right into the rear AC duct, lol. See if you can take the panels out from the sides of the console. Actually if you want to do it right and snake the cable properly you may want to consider dismantling the whole console to do this. I've done it a few times so I'm pretty good at getting the whole navi unit and entire console out in 30 minutes.

BTW any detector needs to be mounted HIGH and near the glass. If you mount it low like that it won't have range at all!

Yeah, i thought about it and i actually tried it but it wont close all the way

and the cord sticks out so its pretty ugly =/

Yeah I'll prob go with how Tech did his unless i get some shop to drill it for me

i called Acura dealer and they said they'll charge 150 to do it but not sure if

they will drill it or just hardwire it haha =/

If not ill just give my C.D to my dad cause hes thinking about getting the V1

on his g37 and i'll live with the beep noise ~_~

But that's my last result.. ill have to figure something out hehe =(

i'll take a pic of mine tomorrow, but i have it right b/w the steering wheel and the gauge cluster. I just used double sided tape and stuck it there. Ran the wires behind the steering wheel column and the plastics underneath the gauge clusters, then down to the area where the fuse box is.

^ will not be efficient for 07-08 whose MID is in the center, plus the word "conseal" loses it's function.
